Incredibly excited. Unfortunately our team is now 4 instead of 5 as Gavin has had to drop out after all his stomach problems. However we are keeping our 3 Sherpa porters and will name one of them Gav so that we still feel he's there in spirit.

It's now me, Simon, Phil and Vicky intrepidly going where loads of people have been before.

The spare room is covered in medicines, clothes, kit and all the odds and sods that are vital for a trip like this. Our own weight in Immodium, rehydration salts, Diocalm, athlete's foot cream, corn plasters (where the hell did they come from?!), painkillers, knee supports etc.

I cannot wait for life to become so simple, reduced to sleep, eat,walk,eat,walk,eat,sit sleep. For days and days. And to do this in stunningly beautiful scenery. I think it will be quite a meditative experience. Bring it on!
