Last night was our final night in Paris. We walked down to the Bastille area, which was very near our hotel, for dinner. It was a much different feel from other areas we had been, it kind of reminded me of downtown new york. We ended up having Italian again, the french seem very fond of their ham, which doesn't really work for any of us. On the walked back, it started sprinkling, then pouring rain. We dove for cover under an awning, and saw our first Paris car accident (those little cars don't dent!) We ended up running to our hotel barefoot so that we didn't slip.
Today we spent all day on the train to Zermatt, Switzerland. Once we figured out the Eurail pass, its a really easy way to travel. The train from Visp to Zermatt was an adventure, we kept having to stop and there was a very loud woman who talked the entire way! It's so nice here, its cold and rainy, which is hard to believe after Paris. We had Italian food (yes I know) for dinner at a place called the old spaghetti factory (no relation, I hope). Now we're back in our huge hotel room, we'll actually make it to bed before 1 am tonight. Tomorrow we're planning on "hiking" the matterhorn, and shopping in the town. It should be a nice break.
