I think I should change my major and enter the winery business. This weekend, 10 of us took a bus about an hour and a half south of Bilbao to visit Logrono and Haro in La Rioja, the famous wine region in Spain. I loved it. We checked into the CUTEST pension, or guesthouse, in Logrono Friday afternoon, and the owner, Lucia, went completely out of her way to make us feel at home, calling cab and bus companies for us, drawing us maps, asking us what we wanted for breakfast, stocking the fridge...it was amazing. We then all headed out to our first winery visit Friday evening, Vina Hermosa. It was a little smaller than most of the wineries in Haro because it is completely family owned and operated, but it was awesome to see. ... read more

Hola Amigos Well I knew it wasn´t going to be easy, but feck & Lordy Lumpus!! I started out in the Pamplona bus station assembling my bike like a participant in a reality TV show. I was fairly happy with my progress until the back wheel just wouldn´t spin... So a phone call to Matt & it seemed to be working again.... hit another snag but managed to work that one out all on my own. I was about to set off when a bus driver speaking Spanish was trying to tell me something... for those of you that are aware of the mechanics of a bike you´ll laugh & cringe all at the same time - I´d managed to put the bike together with the front forks facing the wrong way... he kindly assisted me ... read more
