MADRID

Hi everyone from Madrid, Spain. We arrived here on monday night after a two hour flight south on the irish airline Aer lingus. Had a late dinner at a nearby restaurnt before flopping into bed that night. We have started to experience the Spanish people and culture over the last two days travelling on the metro, shopping and sightseeing. It has been very interesting communicating with the people of Madrid as very few people speak English very well from shopkeepers to people in the street.
We are staying in a hotel in central Madrid city near the metro station Sevilla and one stop away from a major shopping centre and some main museums. Yesterday we had a 3 hour tour of the main areas of the city showing the major building structures of parks, churches, stadiums and monuments. Today we spent shopping Wal for the food and liquor and Carol for clothing and anything else interesting.
