On our gondola ride through Venice
Due to some server errors, this blog was lost.... Here are the highlights:

We spent 2 days in Venice, staying on the island Lido. We got lost in the streets and got to enjoy a gandola ride! That was really nice and something we'd always wanted to do. Venice was fun to explore, and for enjoying more gelato!

Next it was on to visit our friends Gianna & Bennedetto in Camerano, outside of Ancona Italy. It was a wonderful stay and our hosts we so gracious!! We made pizzas in their pizza oven and went swimming in the Adriatic Sea. It felt like a true vacation! (Thanks to the Sgrois!)

Florence was a great Italian stop where we met up with our friend Francesca to have some wine and learn a little more about the city. We took in some sights and the Uffizzi museum to see priceless works of art.

We took a quick pit stop in Pisa en route to Cinque Terre, so we could see the leaning tower. A highlight was also enjoying pizza in a piazza in Pisa- loved it! It was hard to believe we were actually there, seeing the famous landmark.

Back on the train to Vernazza, the little town in Cinque Terre where we were staying. We thought it was funny to see a water polo match going on right in the harbor of the Mediteranean Sea. The town and sea are absolutely beautiful and it is a fun place to begin exploring the area.

Italy has been great so far! More to come on Cinque Terre, then on to Rome!

Love,
Caroline & Ted

IT-aly
Caroline and Ted: It looks awesome! Waterpolo! That is funny that they play in such a small little fishing town in Italy. Anyway, good luck on those trails between the 5 towns.
