We flew out of Gatwick on Fri 3rd Oct, arriving in Catania,Sicily in the afternoon, where mum's handbag(with our money,passports and cameras!!) was stolen by scooter bandits who stopped our car!. So we drove straight to Pizzoni,in Calabria, to get to Nonna who was staying there with her Zia Rosa and cousins(Donatella,Arturo,Nicola,Paolo & Ludovica). There were lots of cousins in Pizzoni. About 1000 people live there and nearly everyone we met was a relative! While we were there, we went to the beaches of Tropea & Pizzo, picked chestnuts, played calcio(soccer),and enjoyed the 2 day Fiesta of Madonna del Rosaria(the Madonna of the Rosary),went to school with Paolo, and learnt a few Italian words.... read more
