Would like help on places to stay, eat, itinerary
13 years ago, December 15th 2010 No: 1 Msg: #124758
We will be travelling to Italy in April 2011 for two weeks. We would love to spend some time in Rome, Venice and Cinque Terre. We are looking for suggestions on places to stay that are not too expensive, length of time to stay, for example in Cinque Terre, good off the beaten path restaurants, and possible itinerary--where to start, what to see, etc.

Thank you very much for your input. Reply to this

My wife & I just returned from a week in Rome. Rented an apartment (<snip>😉
in the old historical (Piazza Navona). 15 min walk to all major sites. aprtment was exactly as advertised, no surprises, very clean. (90 euros/nite). Highly recommend.
Only negative for our week was dealing with YEX currency exchange counter in Rome. Major rip-off. My daughter had joined us from a work assignment in S-Korea and tried to exchange SK won. Going rate was 1.52. YEX was buying at 1.90 plus an added 40 euros service charge. Should should have gotten 390 euros but only got 274 euros. Bring your own or use an ATM or credit card.
