Iceland

It really makes me appreciate being Hongkee, imagine saying you are Rekker, Icelandic, or ... I am Longyearbyian. At least everyone in Scandinavia knows about Hong Kong. Even thou the beggers I saw in India, know we have Jackie Chan and world's smallest Disneyland in Hong Kong, but what about Scandinavia? Perhaps ice, or icebergs.

So from 9 November, I was in Iceland. Shortly after touched down at Keflavik Airport, we were greeted by 3 immigration officer and requested us to show our passport, it was my second time greeted by security personnel on arrival within 10 days after Israel, asked us few questions about our trip in Schengen area. Soon after we collected our backpacks, we paid Euro 400 and got our Renault 4 doors car for 8 days, and we set off on the road in Iceland.

The next morning we woke up at 8:00am and drove to famous Paris Cafe and had our breakfast, before we driving 300km off the city to a little town called Kirkjubaejarklaustur, via Ring Road or Highway 1.

We based in Kirkjubaejarklaustur for 4 days as it was because this little town has alot to see in surrounding areas such as the Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsarlón.

The 120km ride between Skaftafell and Jokulasarlon was breathtaking, the scenery enroute must be one of the best in the world, every single minute we look out of the window is like looking through the pages of a National Geographic.

Jökulsarlón is the lagoon at the end of a glacier, packed full with melting icebergs. I have seen icebergs once in USA but the experience and thoughtful was totally different, I was quite worried about the climate change when I saw these huge pieces of iceberg are melting dramatically.
