Thought we'd give Alitalia a plug since they actually stayed in business long enough for us to get here! That's Greece down there...
Hey!
Hardly know where to start, what a day it's been. We are endelessly fascinated by the way people drive here...motorbikes squeeze between any vehicle they can, cars and buses go like the wind, weaving in and out where you can't imagine there is room but apparently it works because we have not seen one accident. Pedestrians are fearless. We have found people to be very friendly and so helpful. We get lost everytime we turn around it seems so we have needed a lot of help!

We really have no idea just exactly where we are staying in the the big scheme of Athens but, remarkably, found our way to Constitutional (Syntagma) Square this morning which is the hub of Athens (and back home tho that didn't go quite as smoothly as we had hoped). Walked around for a few hours and had lunch...what else..Greek Salad. We then hopped on the "Happy Train" which is this little tourist train (and do you feel like a tourist riding on that...all the little Greek children wave at you!!) and toured some of central Athens then were dropped off at the enterance to the Acropolis. I find it difficult to

What more needs to be said???? Our hotel in Athens
even write about what it was like to stand on that hill and see history, ancient, ancient history. Really you should just come see it yourself, words and pictures are inadequate. All I can think of to say is that I felt privileged to have been able to see it for myself.

Tomorrow we have a 3am wake up call, have to get to the airport by 5 am for our flight to Lesvos. We will be staying on the northern part of Lesvos in Molyvos (I think). We have rented a car for this 3 day stay on the Island and now we hope itraffik will be a little less wild than it's been here. We will be staying at www.nassosguesthouse.com and plan do walk olive trails, bathe in thermal baths (to see Gord's bathing costume refer to the "before" packing picture...see that bright orange thing on your left...that's it) and go for a donkey ride. There are a hundred little things that I could right about our adventure so far. It has been everything we hoped it would be and more. I was up bright and early this morning and had I known the hotel had wireless
