I am really excited for our second day in Berlin. On this day I would like to keep with the historical attractions as well as try some great food! Of course while keeping the cost down.

Choice of Travel- The U Bahn (6.8 Euros for the day)

Attractions for the Day:

Ddr Museum- This museum focuses on the life behind the Iron Curtain. It teaches visitors what life was like for people in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall. This is perfect to fulfill my culture crave! Price 5.5 Euros

Okowerk- on the Eastern shore of Teufelberg (Devils Mountain), its a manmade rubble mountain contructed from piled up debris from WWII. It is now a place to have fun, having many activities such a mountain biking, hiking, or tobaganning. Okowerk is a nature conservation and education centre. Perfect for excerise and education! Price: 2.50Euros

Food:

Lunch- Burgermeister- 3 Euros a burger!

Dinner- Luisen Brau- This is a micro brewery that serves you 12 beers on a metre long stick! My roomate loves beer and works at a microbrewery so this is a must!

Approximate Money Spent On day 2= 50 Euros

From this day I hope to gain an understanding of what life in Berlin was like before the fall of the Berlin Wall and what life is like now. It would be really interesting to ask someone who lived in Germany when it was divided and get a first hand account of how life has changed. Overall I think the historical exhibits we visit will impact my view on life in general and probably help me appreciate the fact that Canada is a united country.
