After posting my last blog entry on Monday in Greifenburg, I went up the hill for one more flight. The day looked good, it was sunny, and cumulus clouds were growing. There were lots of hanggliders up on launch, but almost nobody went out there. I saw some paragliders going up, and there seemed to be thermals coming up in front of launch. I was sick of hanging around and launched. This time, I did not make the same mistake as last time - I caught the first thermal I could get. It was not a very good one, it took me quite some time to work my way above launch, and even then, it was hard work to get higher. Nobody followed me. This is the first time that I publish a story in English and German. Please give me feedback on what you think about the new "style". Here are the competition results: Corinna Schwiegershausen (Germany) is World Champion for the fourth time in her career. She is just such a good pilot. Francoise Dieuzeide (France) came second, followed by Kathleen Rigg (Great Britain). Kathleen hasn't flown for a couple of years, the worlds were her first comp after five years. So she did really well, too. The German team won the team gold medal, the silver medal went to Russia, bronze to Japan. World Champion in the rigid wing class is Alex Ploner (Italy), Christian Ciech (Italy) came second, Robert Reisinger, 2006 World Champion, came third.
