A day of three very different walks.

We drove up to the Col de Vizzavona and from there walked into the mountains to the Cascade des Aglais, a very peaceful spot which is on the G20 the long distance path which runs along the spine of the island.

Then it was back to the coast, through the horrendous traffic of the capital, Ajaccio, and along to the Pointe de la Parata. From the car park we went on a short walk to the point where we had excellent views of the craggy Illes Sanguinaires.

We didn’t want to get stuck in the traffic again so we took a minor road in an effort to miss Ajaccio. A turning off this led to the remote and idyllic beach, Plage de Sevani, where after consultation with the adjacent café owner, we stayed the night. After supper we walked along the beach and onto a headland to watch the best sunset we have seen for ages.

News from Cofton
Hi Roger and Wendy, Makes me feel jealous reading your news. The sunset looks spectacular. We are all fine. Eleanor's AS levels have finished so she's celebrating! Just wanted to let you know that tomorrow I'm taking the funeral of Pat Bird at St. Michael's. Recent years have been a real struggle so it is a mercy that the end had come. No doubt it will be a packed church. Other sad news is that Ruth Lennox's dad was killed last night - a cycling accident involving a lorry. Not yet sure of details but a big shock. Makes you realise we need to make the most of every day - just as you are doing! With our love. Rob
