We made an early start today and headed straight to Mont Martre. On the walk up the hill, we saw the Moulin Rouge. We admired the view from the platform in front of Sacre Coeur and explored the Artists’ Square.
The group then travelled to the Palace of Versailles and were amazed by the extravagance and expansiveness of this palace and the gardens.
It was then back to Paris to Musee D’Orsay for a guided tour. We were blessed with an excellent guide (Jacqui) who not only showed us the highlights of the collection, but educated us about the transitions between various stages of art history including impressionism and post impressionism. We admired many famous works of artists including Monet, Renoir and Rodin.
We then returned to our very nice hotel for an early night.
