Another day of contrasts as we woke late in Nice (France) after our 'sleep in', which consisted of an hour-earlier than expected wake up call, a false alarm fire alarm, and then the correct wake up call just to make sure we were all awake.
Yesterday we left snow in the morning and drove to afternoon sunny skies, palm trees and beaches at Nice. Today we had the opposite experience with the day steadily declining to snow storms, slow ice-covered roads, and cold.
Today was largely a driving day, with 500km to cover between Nice and Grenoble. We stopped off at a picturesque French village called Sisteron for lunch.
After arriving at the Hotel, we dined, and then some of our party threw lots of snowballs at each other outside, while the more sensible retired to sleep early.
BIG DAY TOMORROW... we arrive in PARIS in the afternoon, in time for NEW YEAR'S EVE celebrations. The weather forecast is for more snow and coldness, which could put a dampner on things...
