We took the 15 minute train ride from Turkheim into Colmar, the regional capital, and spent the day walking around the sights of this attractive large town.

A local dish is called Tarte Flambée, a sort of crusty pizza and we sampled a delicious version at a café called Au Croissant Doré recommended by the Guide Book which appeared to be from a bygone age. We were served by a lady whose apparent age made us feel young, she also seemed to be doing the cooking. A memorable lunch.
