Another week, another adventure, this time we are in Alpes d'Huez, 80km from Grenoble in the Alps. I know you have appreciated the last entry as I've never received so many private messages concerning our little spoiling. Sorry if I haven't replied to everybody aleardy, getting quite crowded on the email list! Spring ski, this is not only a first for Mari and Leslie, it's a first for me too! We had no idea what to expect, and still after a week, this was something. Temperatures reached 23 degrees Celsius on the slopes. Rivers took shape in the middle of the slopes while the snow was melting, and still, we were skiing. I had booked on purpose a place high in altitude. For our week, we stay at the Club Med in Alpes d'Huez. I used ... read more

Me and a group of five other international students went on a weekend trip to snowboard/ski in the Alps. This was the best snowboarding I have ever done! In terms of the mountain, conditions, ski town, etc. The mountain was called Alpe D'Huez and is used for the Tour De France as well as snowboarding/skiing. We traveled from Marseille to Valence on the TGV train, then from Valence to Grenoble on a bus. There we went from Grenoble to Alpe D'Huez by bus as well. The mountain was so huge! Our group, three guys and three girls, (from California and Canada) stayed in a youth hostel right on the mountain. It was actually between two runs. The pictures can do no justice to how beautiful this area was. Enjoy!... read more

Bonsoir ! Can you believe I've been here a month already and this week we had another 40cms of snow. Chamonix is looking quite Christmassy. The Christmas lights were turned on in town last weekend and there was vin chaud for everyone. Have my saisonnaire lift pass and think I will be out on the slopes for the first time this weekend. Have Fri/Sat off but have to work Sun as we have first arrivals this weekend so the real work begins. So far its been more like a holiday ! Office is very relaxed, last Friday we had finished all our pre season set up work so took out a minibus for some resort orientation via a brasserie for lunch - traditional savoyarde tartiflette - and via Carrefour to stock up on groceries. We've had ... read more
