The plan today had been to head to Le Mans but with the awful wet weather we felt we had no desire to walk in the rain . Le Mans could wait . We needed to fill the fridge and do a shop. Last night through the mist and rain we had spotted a very large Le Clerc supermarket and petrol station so that was the first plan of the day. We headed for Attin. The petrol station was a no go for us as it was unmanned and we still were unsure if our UK cards would be successful . I do love large french supermarket . The choice of products is enormous . After lunch we went to find another modern art museum mum had found out about. Luckily it was shut so we didn't have to see it. Instead we went back to the car and went ... read more

They were cute dogs and certainly seemed to have a sense of smell. About 10 minutes before the keeper turned up with the food they all got excited with their noses in the air. Their food got laid out while they were locked in a different area. They were near hysterical by that point jamming each other up against the gate, and climbing on top of each other to be the first closest to the food. It reminded me of crowd riots at soccer games where people get crushed. Cheverny was a lovely homely castle. It was very well furnished with everyday living items from centuries gone ... read more
