Naantali is a small town north of Turku and is known as the summer hot spot of Finland. Yet we thought it was a good idea to visit it in the middle of winter. It was not a good idea. Despite Naantali being a peaceful and quaint town to spend a day, we spent only a few hours because the cold was unbearable. As if -19 degrees during the middle of a sunny day was bad enough, but the wind cut life a knife. A knife is understatement... more like an axe. Like Turku, Naantali is a coastal city.
