De camping, zoals reeds beschreven, ... read more

Our last destination was Eisenstadt. We took the underground to Hauptbahnhof station, went to the bus terminal and soon found the bus which would go to Eisenstadt. As expected, the bus ran through small towns, little villages and countryside. It brought us to the town centre of Eisenstadt at 10:30. Eisenstadt, located near the Hungarian border, has been known as the home of one of the greatest composers – Joseph Haydn. There were a number of places named after him – Haydn Café, Haydn Hotel and Haydn Restaurant. Many buildings such as the Old Town Hall and Dominickirche looked very picturesque, and I fell in love with the town. We visited Haydn House, Klostergasse where Haydn and his wife, Aloisia lived for twelve and a half years. As well as some of the original documents, portraits ... read more

I think I have just found Ireland's version of the Outlook Hotel in Ballina! Beautiful landscaped setting, multiple stairs and levels that have you walking up and down in no particular order and endless hallways leading to somewhere. But the best? The pink and white vertical striped wallpaper in the hallways! I found myself looking over my shoulder for Jack Nicholsons character on my exploration! The hotel is great, don't get me wrong but let's just say I'll be back to my room before dark tonight:-) and my room has the coolest vertical super shallow cupboards; one labeled ironing board and the other coffee/tea. I just had to look! This use of space would make IKEA jealous can't wait to post photo once I get home! I love hotels with character; this one is also family ... read more

Fun in the sun is the best way to describe Spain so far. St. Sebastian had it's fill of gorgeous beaches, mountain backgrounds, rich, colorful architecture and great locals to go with it all. I met an American girl heading into town who brought me to her hostel. It was called George's House. Very home-like feel with family dinners every night cooked by Albert, who moreorless ran the place. Unbelievable food for 2 Euro's! Sangreia, guitar playing and about 20 of us crammed in the kitchen every night before heading to the streets where mobs of people would drink, sing, chant and go to the bars or beach until 5 a.m....tough life! Planned on staying a night, stayed 4. Glad I did - met some awesome people from around the world. Headed to Barcelona last night ... read more
