Copan Ruins
Here is a view of the main plaza looking from the top of a tall ruin. Hello everyone,
We made it to Honduras just fine and we are currently at the Copan Ruins. The town that we are staying in is really cool. All of the roads are cobblestone and there are a lot of cute cafes and shops. The town is surrounded by coffee and tobacco plantations so there is a bunch of high quality coffee and cigars in town. Today we went to see the Copan Mayan Ruins and they were really amazing. The ruins that we saw today date back to between 600 to 700 A.D. They are stacked on top of even older ruins that are now underground. There were many statues and pyramid type ruins with long stairways running up. We walked all around the complex and took way to many pictures. Tomorrow we are crossing the boarder into Guatemala and staying the night there in order to get to Belize. We hope that everyone is surviving the cold snowy weather we will be joining you all shortly. Adios!
