I have had nothing bad to say, only good...very great in fact. I have loaded easily 100lbs just on to the back of the bicycle and it has never given me any problems. This is the unicorn of racks considering the price. My girl and I are planning to leave down the South America from Utah and I purchased her the same rack. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002994ES4
It just came in the mail only a few days ago (March 2nd, 2011).
The panniers will stay attached to any rack really, that is the pannier design at work. I am looking in to purchasing new panniers in a few days. I am looking at the Vaude Karakorum, or the Deuter Rack Pack. Anyway I hope that helps out.

How was the Axiom Rack?? I am planning a trans am trip this summer. I'm currently looking into racks. I've noticed that tubus and jandd seem to be very popular. How did your axiom work out? Did the panniers attach easy and stay away from the wheel / spokes? Thanks for any input.

Thanks Patrick It has been a great journey following your trip - and a wonderful inspiration to my scouts and myself. It was by chance we met, and a life lesson by design. Thanks again for sharing "Billie's Chili" and some good fellowship with us in VA. Take care of yourself - your a good man!

bears oh my Well I promised a comment and I aim to keep my promises. Patricia I'm so proud of you for not giving up the "ghost" and dying in the desert, leaving your body as an entree for a buzzard. Pedal hard and remember to breathe it all in! You're soooooo close! Any way you get there it'll be a GREAT accomplishment. Tell Tim shalom for me and give him a big kiss for me as always.

Camp Vista. Just wondering if you got your chain fixed. When I went up through Yosemite it was forty degrees. Hopefully you have enough clothes to keep you warm. That first pass was twelve miles uphill. Good luck.
Axles of Evil ride more got a small representation of the Axles going in Athens OH, 1st tall bike built and group rides a-comin, glad you had so much fun with us, good times riding, good times
I love all of your pictures (particularly the ones of the stunning man you are traveling with) I hope, and am sure, that you are both taking good care of one another. It looks like you are seeing some amazing beauties on your adventure, not just miles of road ahead. I love you both and am sending the best of thoughts.
Keep updating!
heart and soul,
Samantha
Todd Man, it really is so awesome that you are keeping up. I hope the Gary Fisher has been keeping up with you, or the other way around. Anyway I am heading to San Fran with Tim. We are night riding to save on water during the intense day heat. I hope you enjoy some of the shots I took, I am now getting used to the options I have on my camera. Thanks again for following.
Congratulations What an accomplishment. All the people I have shared your stories with are amazed. To venture across country relying solely on your own skills and abilities is admirable and this adventure will serve you for the rest of your life. I'm very proud to have you as my son.
I am so sorry Patrick, I am so sorry to read of your loss of Papa. Please know that you are in our prayers both now and over your journey.
Take care. Fisher is doing great! :)
Inspiring. Tony Poulson pointed me to your blog. I've always wanted to...and am still hoping to...ride my bike on some ultra long trips. Your adventure is, in a word, inspiring. People like you remind me that my need for schedule and stability can be broken in the name of discovery...thanks for that. I'll continue to follow your adventure...and hopefully start mine next year with a 760 mile ride to Santa Barbara from SLC.

Todd I am glad to have posted something new for you. Expect more in the coming days. I took a visit to a small town east of here that I may visit next. Eureka Springs...I know that I would be traveling in reverse but it is worth it. How is the trail riding? My buddy in SLC just bought a full suspension and I am super envious...
I enjoy that you are learning the basics and becoming somewhat proficient in so many things. You are going to have to help me make a table when you get here!
Oh and I love this "I vote I am the ballot for my own life."!!!!! Awesome.
bike/gear setup Good luck on your journey. Someday I'll travel across the states. Maybe you would of been better off adding a front rack/panniers. And an extra water bottle on the underside of your down tube.
Big Dam Bridge The total dimensions are 24,896 x 3141. The total image file is 15.8mb. There is one more panorama that I am in the middle of photo shop with, this one should turn out good as well...although I don't think it will look as good as the first. The night/evening lighting was incredible.
Thats a Damn big Dam bridge Nice shots. Whats the total length of that thing? I like how the lights are at night on it. On the second page of pics is the 3rd from the last showing a house on the right? Looks to be a nice looking place.

My Philosophy:
Socrates, kindness, karma. The world is in chaos. Honorable dealing is deteriorating, good friends are few, truth is held in disrepute, good service is underpaid, poor service is over paid. Whole nations are committed to evil dealings: with one you fear insecurity, with another, inconsistency, with a third betrayal. This being what it is, let the bad faith of others serve not as an example, but a warning. The real danger of the situation lies in the unhinging of you... full info
