Just have to leave a comment since noone else has yet... well everyone has been rather busy. Gosh i am glad it's not me over there in that cold place! I don't think I would survive! Eddie wants to visit at Christmas sometime, Derek says that's his favourite time too, but i think I'll stick to warm places!! thanks Susan for sharing your holiday with us, and doing such entertaining blog entries:)
correction of last comment!! How embarrassing! Me, a German teacher and I signed off from my last comment incorrectly. Let's fix that now shall we. Keep enjoying yourself Sus and can't wait to hear about the Spice Girls!!! DEINE, Meg
Hey babe! I'm glad you had a lovely Christmas, sweetie! You know, it was freezing here too.
Nowhere near as beautifully cold as yours looked, though.
Love, hugs, missingness,
Patty xoxo
Sugoi!!! Hey Sus! Fantastic pictures and I just LOVED your video. Not a bad way to spend Christmas day AT ALL. You lucky thing!!! Keep enjoying yourself over there - make the most of every day and don't try to think about us back here too much - you'll be back before you know it and then you'll want to be back in Germany!!!
Viel Spass und liebe Gruesse! Ich vermisse Dich!!! Liebe, Meg
Just another day... Hey Susan your Christmas Day was certainly different! What a beautiful place to be spending it! I hate to read how lonely you were feeling, but hey you got through it!
Our place is like a morgue now that Lucas has gone and it is just us again... quite unbearable.... we went out to Indooro yesterday to be in the Boxing Day crowds for a while.
Press Gang! I remember that episode! Gotta love Julia Swalha and Dexter Fletcher... they had some chemistry going on.
Sounds like you're having an awesome time over there - drinking up a storm, good stuff. Hope it keeps on going well and Warren's leg is ok...
Merry Christmas!
At Drast a Lagon You are such a meanie Sus, but so darn funny. Glad to see that your funny bone isn't frozen :P
Oh, and is the dragon comment in reference to St. Magnus - the monk who famously killed a dragon near Fussen by eating bread and making a sign of the cross?
Or is it simply because the region was known for its dragons..
Or - is it a reference to TV.
I daresay it is the latter of the three...
Mind you, I have had nothing but success with the bread and praying thing. I have gained twelve kilos and there are no dragons in sight.
Snow Hey Susan :D
I just arrived back from a week away with Mum and Dad in Coolum getting sun and sand lol. Quite the opposite of your trip. :P
Good to see you actually have now seen real snow not just carpark snow Yay for Susan :D
Sounds like you are having way to much fun. I am now home alone (don't count Grandad lol ) for a week :D
So yeah enjoy your week. I will :)
Loves Joshie

Hey Booze!! Sounds like you're having a fab time! So wish I could have got over to see you (or vice versa) since you're so bloody close! Re the dragon thing, is it something to do with Oberstaufen being in Bavaria??
OK so we all have a laugh at me asleep in the back seat - now everyone imagine a passed out Will Kruse waking up in the back of the night bus at INALA!!!!!!!!!!!
From Valerie I have absolutely no idea who or what is the dragon.... bit early in the morning for me!
So you have visited Ohhhhhhhhhh-berstaufen again and had a lovely day and fallen asleep in the back of the car! Just like Eddie who is chuffed to be featured on your blog.
wow - so beautiful! so stunning! so brilliant!
... and the scenery is nice too! ;)
glad you are living the dream, sus. you deserve it! the monastery sounds interesting. any photos? picasa mayhap?
xo kel
You certainly scored with your Blautopf visit. The market sounded awesome! On our visit the place was full of very sweaty lycrabutts and their bikes, and they were all ordering radlers and cheese! Great place eh!
Hey how about visiting the indoor heated pool near Warren's? Then you will HAVE to remove your beanie for a while!
Thanks for very entertaining blog posts.... and don't worry, your TRUE friends would NEVER criticise your spelling .. all adds to the flavour!
Gruess Gott! Hey Sus! Thanks so much for the update. I remember climbing those steps up that tower - probably about this time last year actually. CRAZY!! Can't wait for the next installment!
From Mum! Wow I did not know about Erwin Rommel... sad...
Hope your foot is soon better Susan ...it sounds nasty. Perhaps you had better think about a second pair of boots??
Keep up the blog entries, they are awsome!
Glad to hear you're learning English... ...but you already appear to speak it rather well. Love that jet lag!
I am of course just bitter because I am soooo jealous. Have a wonderful time!
I was googling Japanese proverbs to put in here and came across a few corkers before finding this one;
If a man deceive me once, shame on him; if he deceive me twice, shame on me.
Yes, yes, like the Leeanne Rhimes song.. or better than that - as borrowed by the ever brilliant wordsmith J W Bush..
But mostly that quote reminded me of my brother Warren who I spent my last summer holiday with, and who does a fraking fabulous impression of this Bush quote.
Okay, so this year I am going to Japan for my holidays! Well, for a few wee... full info
