We went for whale watching trip in Long beach during February 2008. It was a great trip. Initially we just planned to roam around Long beach. But we saw these whale watching tours there. It was whale watching season. So we decided on the spot and went for the whale watching tour. The sea was quite unsettling that day. The ride got bumby and Mom was quite scared to move in the beginning. BUt somehow we pushed her to go to the top deck. We did not geta full whale view but could see it moving around our boat :) We [View Full Entry]

The New year went off really well, this time with my parents with us... Mom made Semiya payasam (my absolute favourite) and sweet for the New year... We went to "Mandir". a Hindu temple nearby... Then as usual, a long phone call sessions exchanging New year wishes to friends and family... The rest of the afternoon was spent in chatting and watching TV. We started off for crystal cathedral near my place.. It is famous for its architecture..We spent some time aroundthe cathedral...The sunset was magical that day... We returned back home and ended that day with a great New year [View Full Entry]

This was a trip that we wanted to make for the Labor Day weekend itself. We could not make it for several reasons. In fact we came so close to booking a package with Hilo Hattie travel agent in Orange County. We got our first feel of Hawaii from an authentic Hawaii travel agent. The travel agent was very good in communication. She was so polite and gave a very pretty picture of Hawaii. We would have discussed for around 1.5 hours with her talking about the Islands of Hawaii, our preferences, time and cost. Talking to her gave a better [View Full Entry]

June 9th - June 11th We had to perform an Annual Family ceremony @ a priest’s place in LiverMoore The ceremony was on June 11th Monday. So we thought we would spend the weekend at some place near Liver Moore. Undoubtedly, the first place that came to my mind was Yosemite. This is one of the perfect times to visit Yosemite because of the waterfalls being in full swing. We knew 2 days are not going to be enough for Yosemite. As always, this is nearer, so we can afford one more trip. :-) This was our plan Friday - June [View Full Entry]

We had made lots of plans for memorial day weekend. We planned to go to Hawaii originally. But as usual Balaji had some important release at his work, so we had to drop the plan. We just did not plan anything untill May 2nd week. We realized that time is running by and we would not get good deals and started thinking about where to go. As Balaji could not afford taking leave (that is the very reason why we cancelled Hawaii:-(), we had to plan for some place nearby. Yosemite and Lake Tahoe were on my list of must visit [View Full Entry]

We had been to South Rim of Grand Canyon for the Easter Weekend. I could find time to update the blog now only! :-) It so happens that you have something amazing close to you and yet you did not visit it yet... Grand Canyon is one such place. Balaji had been in California for a while before I joined him here and he has been to GC hell lot of times!!!! I had always been telling that we plan a trip but somehow or the other we kept postponing the Trip. Finally we were able to make up our mind [View Full Entry]

We enjoyed a great vacation in Italy. This was a trip that was planned long back!!!! We awaited this trip eagerly! Italy has always been in my Top 10 places to see! The whole plan started with a casual Tea time discussion between me and my husband. Both myself and my husband are passionate travelers…We love traveling and exploring new places. It is good that we synch up in this aspect. My husband has traveled a lot than myself! I love listening to his travel experiences. One fine day, we ended up discussing on our Christmas vacation plan! We were talking [View Full Entry]
