General info: Currency: Indonesian Rupiah Cost of living: 1,5l bottle of water 6R, 0,5l local beer 30R, meal in average restarurant 50R Flight to Jakarta sounded promising to me and I have to admit, I was a bit surprised with the significant domination of Islam in that region. The name of the city comes from Jayakarta, which old Javanese translate as "victorious city". It's rapidly growing, second largest in the world metropolis. Tropical climate creates perfect conditions for coffee plantation. That day I was given an opportunity to find myself in Tangerang area, which, saying politely, disappointed me. Obtrusive traffic noise, chaos on the streets, noticable air pollution and unaesthetic buildings, ruined my first impression. My attempts to explore the city met with failure. Cars dominate the traffic totally. Drivers use beeps instead of brakes, pedestrians ... read more

General info: Currency: Kenyan shilling Cost of living: 1,5l bottle of water 75S, Elephant Orphanage enterance fee 500S, coffee in hotel cafeteria 250S Kenya so far has been known to me for its world's best long distance runners. Capital city name comes from massai name of the river Enkare Nairobi which means cool water. It is the most diversified country in regards to ethnology and languages in whole Africa. Conflicts among groups are its main problem. Official languages are swahili and english. The view of the streets says everything about financial and development situation there. Obviously it's not very well. Main turistic attractions are wild animals parks. Also there is an elephants orphanage, created due to poaching of adult elephants by ivory seekers. My visit was mainly dedicated to visit that orphanage and as well neighbouring ... read more

That turnaround was the worst ever in my whole career. Hard to manage timing, night departure and noon arrival, very difficult passengers profile. Well, that job is not always about nice and easy flights with pleasant layovers. Hope to never experiance that again.

My brother was waiting for us there, so after arrival we headed together straightaway to our home. My Mr M joined us shortly after. At home I could rest and enjoy nice dinner with my loved ones. General info: Currency: British Pound Cost of living: My first visit to the country of Loch Ness monster and kilts (mens skirts). Glasgow welcomed me with typical British Islands weather. Gloomy, chilly, constantly raining. Even though I did not give up my plan to see the city. Some of the attractions were located in walking distance from the hotel. In the company of lovely Ukrainin girl met on the flight, we went out the same evening after arrival. We walked along the river heading to Clyde Arc. That eye catching construction is one of the local landmarks. On our way we could see also interesting bridges, The Squiggly and The Kingstone. As well we found very nice italian restaurant called The Rotunda, so we came in for a dinner and deserved glass of wine. The next ... read more
