HEADING FOR A HIGH SCORE As Pup hit 329 not out against India...to set a new record at the S.C.G...Dribbleman continues to pile on the runs in the USA...keep them coming...and welcome to 2012.
We are really enjoying all of your US blogs Philly is a great city and you described it well. Loved the Rocky photo. I'm going to post it in the novelty forum. Can't wait to read more.
Happy New Year I went to college just north of Pittsburgh, and married a local girl. My favorite football team is the Steelers. I'm glad that you liked Pittsburgh...real America! I hope to make it to the West...where we retired.

www.austinlehman.com/ I had the worst story of this. In Costa Rica I was driving around "La Fortuna" with some friends. GPS wasn't working and even though I knew enough spanish to ask for directions, I didn't know enough spanish to understand them. Turns out we were in the WRONG La Fortuna. This one...lucky for us drove in a circle as well. So we literally circled this nothingness town for about 3 hours. Due to lack of street signs there was no way to know we were so lost. We bought a map on our way out of town.
Wow, you really visit some places off the beaten path, ey. I spent some time in Missouri as well a couple of years back, also went on to visit my relatives in Iowa City. Took almost the same picture of that town hall. Guess a road trip by car gives you more flexibility, I did mine by Greyhound Bus and Amtrak, which was very uncomfortable at times, but probably the cheapest option to cover large distances.
WELL PLAYED & YOU'RE OFF TO STATE You arrive in Scottsburg...and they WIN...well played...love Carhenge...but its not "real" football if they wear pads...is it.?!
On behalf of all Americans who never outgrew the appeal of fall/autumn, I wholeheartedly support your decision to run through a suburban yard, tossing handfuls of recently raked leaves into the air in jubilation. In fact I may or may not have photos of myself doing that very thing last year, only replace small-town American with Central Park Manhattan (just because you find yourself in a urban center, doesn\'t mean it has any less appeal). And yes, Jimmy Johns is better than Subway, hands down.
bright lights I know what you mean about having bright lights in truck stops etc. I free overnight park all the time myself and use a "sleep mask" which I bought for a couple of bucks that goes over my eyes and blocks out the light. Sure makes a difference.
BTW: if you go to Walmart.com and click on locations you can easily find SuperWalmart locations to overnight park in.
When I stay in motels I usually stay in Motel 6 as well. A basic room at a basic price as they claim.
Road Atlas I have traveled by truck, van, and car in the US extensivly and would like to suggest that if you are going to be traveling extensivly you go online to walmart.com and invest $12.75 and order the 2012 Rand McNally Large Scale Road Atlas. It can be sent to any Wal Mart on your route where you can pick it up which would be the most convienent method for you since you are traveling. It is an excellent atlas and has the location of every SuperWalmart in the US, most of which will permit overnight parking. SuperWalmart is open 24 hours as well which is convienent for late night shopping and restrooms. The map is excellent for finding your way around. Personally I have found that the locals don't know where anything is because all they do is work, shop, eat, and watch TV anyway. Be sure to get the Large Scale version....much easier to read.
Very disappointing entry. Lately your blogs have been feeling rather listless and uninspired, almost as if you're bored with Europe or travelling in general. I think Luxembourg deserves more than just a day trip, it's actually a unique little country with nice castles and good hiking if you venture out of the capital.
Light hearted comment taken the wrong way Thanks for the comment. But I think you have not got the point there and taken it the wrong way. I am no way condoning it and will no way say that in the politically correct way.
I don't think so... I think your assertion re the position of feminists, equality and sex tourism in the Gambia is puerile in the extreme. Exploitation is not generally something a feminist is in favour of.
ROCHELLE WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder...or is it abscence makes the heart grow fonder.?..either way...she'll be worth it.
You got it all wrong It wasn't your shirt that you were supposed to swing around like a propeller...
Plus Romanian is a Romanic language, hence the similarities with Spanish. It is close to Italian, though.
never say never "Life has begun; I am 30 and will never come back to Ios."
Mate, trust me,This places like ios where most of the people are young travellers, are the best places for us over 30 :) .You know why ? Because most of these young people are doing a lot of things there because they must, not becuase they like or want it. its a kind of pressure for them to be as much cool as possible. this is the modern global society!. And we who are older can relax more and enjoy all these things in a completely other way. For us there is no "Must",even not on Ios or for example koh phangan in Thailand. There is no pressure for us to be act cool and to try to be something we are not. That's the good thing if you are getting older. You can still go to places like this and you still will have a good time. I'm travelling ,too, around the world ,and I'm 36. I don't care so much about my age. Life is too short to take care about things like that.
