Meaning of Mu-cang-chai?
Hi, MuCangChai is a famous name of our land,so happy for people who left the footprints on the land even it is a remote and poor town! however do you know the meaning of Mu-Cang-Chai in Vietnamese? (For example: just recently i knew, Ma-Pi-Leng,a name of a moutain in Ha giang, means "a horse breathes hard/audibly" during it's hardly passing the mountain)

Lovely photo
Hi, I love this photo most of all taken in your SuoiGiang tour! I don't know the reason why! Maybe that is a reason why it is placed in the first place of the tour.

Old Tee Trees
Hi Hong Ha, Delighted to read your travel blog while having my lunch break :) This is the first time I read about such old tea trees & they grow to produce tea leaves. Can't wait to read the rest of your travel :)

Happy Belated Birthday
Wishing you a belated happy birthday. I hope you had a great day & many happy returns :) What an experience to have to find a dentist at a foreign place. I remember my new tooth filling came out while I was camping in the jungle & had to withstand the pain & to eat using one side of the teeth (so that no food get stuck). My dentist patched it back without additional charge as I was very angry with him. I am happy to hear every thing was OK with you after the visiti to dentist.

Lang Song
Dear Han, Congratulations on your" exodus" from muddy troubles. I can imagine how you cluld enjoy special dinner shown in your photos, which seems delicious to me, too.The flowers in your photo are very popular and bloomed here and there during rainy season now, even at my garden. Best Wishes from Kob

Great trip!
Thanks Hong Ha. I was so pleased to hear about your trip to the waterfall and PAC Bo cave and to see those wonderful photos. When I went to Cao Ban a couple of years ago I was unable to organise anything to get to either of those places. Fortunately I really liked Cao Bang and enjoyed exploring all around the city. Now I you have inspired me to have another go.

North East - part 4
Thanks for another super blog. The waterfalls look beautiful. The human interest side of the trip, with the help you received from the truck driver and the local people is typical of the better side of human nature that sometimes happens when travelling.

Hi, Hong Ha, This part of your trip is very exiting with experience of your vehicle stuck in the mud :). Ban Gioc Waterfall is not high but the water looks powerfull from the photos. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.

Ban Gioc waterfall
The Sub-waterfall on Vietnamese side is 30m high, while the Main-waterfall is lower but it has 4 levels and it looks beautiful. The Chinese are smart enough to get the beautiful part of the waterfall because in dry season there is not much water in the Sub-waterfall.

Lang Son
Great blog - what an experience! The roads remind me of a trip by road from Hanoi to Sapa in 2008. It is very interesting to read a blog like this from a native Vietnamese who can speak to the locals in remote places in their own language. I remember going to the huge market in Lang Son in 2006 and having an excellent lunch afterwards. Many thanks for bringing back these happy memories.

Affordable Cruises
Ba Be is Vietnam’s largest natural lake and is now the centrepiece of an extensive National Park. The park and the surrounding area is limestone country, so lakes, waterfalls, caves and unusual rock formations abound.i always wanted to visit this lake..

Thanks for another excellent blog. I've always wanted to visit this lake. Very good photos. It's good to hear that tourism has not spoiled the area since your last visit.
