The cruising & sun set over Ba Be Lake was beautiful. The musk-cat dish looked delicious, yummy

Hi Hong Ha, Great to read your travel post :) Now I learnt President Ho Chi Minh lived a simple life & led the country to independence.

Interesting to see these historic places
I stayed in the city of Tuyen Quang 2 years ago and really loved it. So I was interested to see the places where General Giap and Ho Chi Minh organised against the French. I've read about these events and would love to visit these places too. Do you have to go on an organised tour or can you just get a bus from Hanoi? Thanks Hong Ha for showing, again, such interesting places.

H'mong minority in Ha Giang
Thanks for the interesting story on your adventurous trip to the northernmost province. It's very interesting for me to have learned "white H'mong" in Ha Giang where the ethnic women wear skirts in white, while the other groups of H'mong people are respectively called "black H'mong", "flowery H'mong", "blue H'mong" "red H'mong" etc depending on women's skirt colours. I would speculate each group of H'mong is proud of their own color as a symbol.

Simply stunning scenery. Ha Giang area has the potential to be another tourist attraction in no time :) I love the basket the locals carry like a backpack (you can put all the shopping in, even a one year old baby)

What a great trip
I'm so enjoying your account of your trip. I went to Ha Giang in 2010 but didn't go any further because I got a bit scared about the roads. I'm not good with heights. Of course now, after reading your blog, I'm quite keen to go and see it for myself.
