Last day in San Francisco, Last day on the road, last blog entry! Apologies that its so short, no time on the internet left! On Saturday we lived the longest day of our lives when we crossed the international date line- day started off by checking out at 10am and waiting for a flight at 10pm! Luckily we just lay on the beach all day, showered up and headed to the airport. The flight to LA was 10hours long arriving in LA before we'd even left Fiji, we managed to sleep a bit but a medical emergency on board had me distracted as i pictured landing in Hawaii to cope with it! (in typical american fashion) we had to go collect our bags and clear immigration before just walking to another part of the airport to ... read more

Hello Hello, So after a relaxing day in Auckland doing absolutley nothing we headed out with Ngaio and her family to the beach to walk the dogs, despite the rain and wind this turned out to be a great walk! Returned for dinner, with neighbours as well, before desperatley trying to finish the book i'd borrowed from book club. Tuesday morning we got up, packed up again and headed over to Thelma's in the early afternoon, via a very cheap train! She picked us up and we had a quick snack before going down the scenic drive which took us around the bays and beaches with great views! No walk would be complete without a tramp so of we decsended- inevitably having to come back up the steepest and longest hill of my life!! Impressive to ... read more

Good Morning All, It's been an exhausting week here in New Zealand as well as social! We hopped across to the north island on the ferry, 3 hours long, on Tuesday afternoon, which got exciting when someone jumped up and shouted that they'd just seen a dolphin so we (along with the whole boat!) jumped up and low and behold there were dolphins jumping in and out of the water, it was like being in Titanic!! Upon arrival in Wellington, we walked about 700 miles more or less from the station to our hostel, during rush hour, before arriving and collapsing! After dinner and a bit of tv we headed to bed as i have developed a problem by which i wake up before 8 every morning so was ready to crash! Wednesday morning we headed ... read more

Hello Hello, So after publishing the last blog we decided to head out and see the sights of christchurch the main one being the Cathedral which stands in the middle of the square so in we popped and we're delighted to find it warm compared to the biting wind outside! We headed down to the Arts Centre which showed various artistis work and galleries and had a cute market on! The buildings are all very old fashioned which is nice after OZ which is mainly modern. It's kind of like england! We walked all the way down to the Botanical Gardens before heading back inside to the warm. Sunday was a monumental day for us as we made a successful meal for the first time ever- Cauliflower Cheese! I totally have white sauce down to a ... read more

Well it's goodbye Australia already!! We spent Monday chilling, doing our washing, making plans for the rest of the week and also for NZ so we maximize our time there!! We went for a walk around the local area as well as making a cake out of whatever was lying around but mainly relaxed. We ate dinner with Lou and her brother before bed- very basic day sorting out our bags, lives and making plans really! We did pop out for a short walk and smoothie which was also known as a cup full of yoghurt! Tuesday morning we set an alarm to wake us up bright and early so we could head down to Palm Beach which is like 2hours away and as well as being a beautiful northern beach the reason we chose this ... read more

So just after publishing that last blog with rumors of snow, it actually snowed!!! Just sitting there and BAM snow, although it didnt settle as it was too wet but still.......serves us right since we've been complaining about how we've missed all the english snow this year!! Monday night on the bus passed better than usual as we had enough room to spread out-so curled up over two seats until my neck was in total pain at which point i decided sitting up was probably better! Arrived to still coldish weather in Melbourne at 8am so after paying to put our bags in the lockers we decided we couldn't function without breakfast, nice poached eggs on wholegrain toast (since so many seem to be reading for the food i'll keep it up!) then wondered around town ... read more

Hello All- 2nd attempt at this after losing it somehow!! So after a relaxing Monday night in we had the aim of getting up on Tuesday morning and heading to Byron Bay but hopefully squeezing in a Koala visit first- sadly we realised that with the bus longer than expected something had to give so with Lynette's kind offer of another night we decided to head to Byron Bay first thing wednesday and go cuddle Koala's!! Upon arriving at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctury where u can watch Koala's and various other animals to your hearts content as well as getting the opportunity (for money of course) to cuddle one of them!! Having been completely besotted with them when visiting Australia as a child i jumped at the chance to have a close up photo with ... read more

Hello, Been relaxing in Brisbane and a side trip to the beach! We completely changed our Whitsunday plans after realising that spending 100pounds just to get there on a 18hour bus probably wasn't worth it for this short amount of time, i guess i'll just have to come back and do the north later on in life! So Tuesday we decided to have a day in, something that's a complete novelty so after a nice lie in we watched some tv, used the internet and explored the local area- there arent any shops etc in walking distance so instead I went for a walk down to the lighthouse to scout out my running route! the running career got off to a hot start as the evenings are always busy and there's no chance of me getting ... read more

Hello Group, Now moved even further around the world as we arrived in Oz on Saturday night! So anyway when i last wrote i was still in Malaysia. After a creaky nights sleep on the worlds loudest bed- me being an active sleeper- we went for brunch at Limau Limau a lovely little cafe on Jonkier Street before heading over to the Museum of Enduring Beauty to be fascinated and disgusted by the pictures of people with tatoos everywhere, lip discs in their mouths and immense weights hanging from their ears!! We happily spent ages walking around there as opposed to the Kite Museum downstairs which was disappointing!! Afterwards we went for a walk around and then headed back to pack up our stuff before dinner (lush roasted vegtable pasta)- most of the restaurants close quite ... read more

Hello Group, After using the free internet on Saturday we headed up to the revolving restaurant in Penang to enjoy a congrats on making 2months dinner- the buffet was immense and there was no way we could've done it justice but it was worth it for the views alone. Although the obvious movement made us both a little bit dizzy. Sunday was a disappointing day as we became aware for the first time in weeks that it was the weekend with nothing open- restaurants, muesems everything appeared to be closed. We headed to fort cornwallis- unaware that is wasnt open so after taking some photos of the outside and closed gates we went for a wonder around the colonial district which had some beautiful buildings (including HSBC) and down to the marina which seemed to be the ... read more
