almost over!
this may be my 2nd comment as other one didn't seem to go through! Cannot believe how intrepid you are in face of all the creepy crawlies-make sure there are no cockroaches in your bag on Thursdayat Heathrow. Really can't believe you will be back with us this week. We are all incredibly excited about having you back! Make the most of the remaining time and San Fran should be relaxing at the quirky San Remo! Much love mum xxx

keeping up with Robert!
Love the idea of 85 year old Robert leading the way and you both shattered keeping up! He is amazing, no doubt. Sounds as though NZ has been fun with a few friends to meet up with, too. Photos look beautiful as expected, must try and get there sometime-altho fitness training required before meeting up with Robert. Take care, last leg of epic journey approaches. Love m xxxx

Good grief when I saw the title "Franz Josef" in my head I thought you meant josef fritzel!!! I was worrying for your safety and wondering how you could have come to be in contact with an austrian psychopath...anyhoo thats irrelevant. free choc pudding and brekkie - steve has fully redeemed himself in my eyes! enjoy the second island (who knew?!) xxxx

life will be so dull back in London-but somewhat calmer. Replying to this from the Said Business school at Oxford-so weird. Only 3 weeks and a bit to go. Enjoy as much as you can-dramas and all! I hope Robert comes up trumps and then Fiji. Much love mum xxxx

Soph... many, well the majority, of my friends have been travelling round the world and not ONE of them has had the dramas and stories that you and Libby seem to tell! I LOVE IT!!! As soon as you're back in sunny england (not) let me know when you can fit me in to come round! maybe your mum will throw dinner and wine in.... enjoy and be safe x x x

great pics...
Hi Soph, I loved the Palm Beach picture and how it was composed. The footsteps to the beach and the posts to either side drawing me into the water and the horizon. It made me stare and think for a couple of minutes - which is a good thing. Meanwhile, the blog continues to be a great read and, depending upon the time of day, I end up feeling ravenous. Keep it up and have fun, Paul x.

Wow it feels like time has suddenly started to go quickly now...i cant believe you're in NZ already. Was so good to speak to u the other night altho im not surprised its a hazy conversation in your head lol. jacko has short hair!!
lovely blog-but shocked that "Annie" has short blond hair!! They look great though and Phil still looks like Ralph Mctell. They obviously enjoyed having you stay and taking you pubbing with them. Love the ramsey st photo. Amazing to think you are onthe last leg and home straight. Enjoy . Big footie day today!!

TV stories
Oh my goodness; what a wonderful blog eh Sophie! I had to read it twice to work out the Neighbours tour; not being fantastically clued into Australian soaps (well any soaps actually other than the Archers, which is real life not a soap at all) I thought at first you were literally visiting a neighbour from London. And although the Janelle Timmins allusion is missing for me, I love the cheese and TV image. And snow! You wrapped for the cold; of course my image of Oz is that of a warm and barmy weather and the occasional drought and forest fire. But you have captured in words and those wonderful photos of yourself, the woolly hat and Gore-Tex weather ( I trust it’s Gore-Tex!!), the other more wintry aspect of the place. What will NZ be like I wonder? I will find out by reading the next blog. Love to you. J

At last, forget the Taj, Ankgor, Singa. It's that neighbours set and, to top it off (not cheese and bread but) a neighbours star. Shame they weren't looking as trashy as the real soap character. It is all passing so quick but it's good to see that you got something more out of Melbourne. Sydney should be great. Did you meet up with the Olaves in the end though?

Everytime i read your blog i get soooo hungry! Might also be the fact i am nearly always sitting in front of 'Great British Menu'. Ah the thrilling life of the non-traveller! Also, how are you managing to look so good while travelling? We need some more matted hair and weird hippy clothes please x

can't believe how cold it is for you. It looks pretty cold in Melbourne too but I know nothing will stop you heading for the cultural highlight of your whole 5 months trip ie the Neighbours set! Sydney look a bit warmer at around 17-20 degrees and sun not snow! Love those koalas; worried about the snake bravery! Much love mum xxx
