Today, our last day in Vancouver, was a warm, sunny Sunday. We picnicked with Ally then spent the afternoon wandering around Stanley park capturing all the beautiful autumn colours as the sunset over the city. Last night was halloween so we followed tradition and carved some pumpkins, dressed up in gory outfits and bought the biggest, baddest box of fireworks we could find. The city was screaming with fireworks going off in every street, fire-truck sirens in the background and the wafting smell of gunpowder. Spent the first night in a hostel in 'downtown' Vancouver, found a great brewery and learnt the trick to not getting jet lagged is to confuse your body with a nasty hangover. Day two we caught the bus out to SFU by accident which is one of the big universities, very pretty campus, and then eventually found our way to Ben's friends house who is putting us up for the week in her sunroom. Ali has a great place she shares with two ... read more
