Roadtrip to Whistler... and Bungee Jumping!

Hello again, big day! Ben and I have just returned from a very long but beautiful day-trip through British Columbia and are now sitting with some cold brews recovering from the sheer adrenalin rush we got from bungee jumping deep in the forests of Whistler, BC.

We hired a car early this morning and spent a few hours getting to grips with driving on the right-hand side of the road, winding up scenic route 99. Stopped by at Shannon Falls and all the lookouts, took a packed lunch and had a look around Whistler Village where they're getting ready for the Winter Olympics so none of the shops were open and there were roadies and construction workers everywhere. Then we headed for the Whistler Bungee platform 170ft above a raging river and surrounded by dense pine forest. I wasn't going to jump, using my arm as an excuse but got excited and when I asked the guy if I could with a fractured wrist he said 'hell yes' and then there was no way out of it. And at the count of five we both jumped (ben was ballsy enough to go first)... then silence, followed by screaming turning into a few swear words and yelps of fear or relief, we're not sure which. The whole thing was pretty horrifying and sobering, we're both pretty stoked to be back in vancouver having done it and have earned the T-shirts and will wear them proudly till they fall off us! Will write again when we seek our next rush, this adventure country could become addictive and we might have to find sillier and stupider feats to keep us going.
