Hello everyone, I am delighted to let you all know that baby Matteo Bryant Anand came into the world with a bang on July 29th at 8:18pm proceeded by the UK fireworks (fitting as his Dad is English). He was born at home weighing 7lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. He came 10 days before his due date and is a beautiful healthy boy. Despite a fast and furious delivery Mom, Dad and baby Matteo are well. Mom and Dad are adjusting to our new family so if you don't hear from us right away we have been very busy with Manish's family here from England and our new baby. We will be in touch soon. Thank you for all of your well wishes we have been very touched by all the support we ... read more

Hello Everyone, For some it has been a while and others are up to speed on the busy happenings in my life. Shortly after my incredible and interesting advanced Yoga adventure where I learned more about my ego and cleansed my body from head to toe, I became pregnant. From the time that I was a little girl I have always known that I wanted to be a Mom. Of course in my teenage years I assumed that I would be married and with a family by age 25. So finding myself 34 and with a life partner still wanting children was a little different than I anticipated. None the less all the Indian cleansing managed to help this dream become a reality. I arrived home on October 1st and started working on a new business ... read more

The Past few weeks have been very interesting! I came to study Yoga to improve my own practice, become a better teacher and attempt to suppress my ego. The cleansing techniques are supposed to help with ego, I have been told. So with several attempts and lots of vomit I have succeeded in two of the practices. One of the practices called Dundar Neti involves inserting a catheter into the nose and pulling it out the mouth. The problem with this is that it is revolting!! You have to coat the tube with ghee to lubricate it, I had flash backs of last years buttered popcorn in the nose! As you start to insert the tube a sneeze reflex is triggered, so there were 13 of us on Vaman Road sneezing as though we had all ... read more

So where do I begin. It has been an action packed 3 weeks. Manish and I had a fabulous time eating, sampling great red wine and sightseeing. More to come on Italy when I can properly upload photos. India, all the sights smells and sounds rush back into my memory minutes after landing in Mumbai. My first experiences were great! I booked a shared taxi from Mumbai to Nasik, and then onto the Ashram. On the taxi I met a nice man from Nasik that was eager to be my host for the trip. He bought me water and lunch which was great. The first few nights were an adjustment; I had conveniently forgotten how hard the beds were. The monsoons had hit the ashram hard in the weeks before I arrived and the air in ... read more

So this adventure continues! Manish and I are heading off to London to visit with his famliy before heading to Italy for a week. After we return to London, I fly to India to complete my advanced teacher training at Yoga Vidya Dham, and Manish flys back to Vancouver for 5 weeks with out me. It will have been 1 year and 4 months since I left the ahsram. I have had a little over a year of experience teaching 5 - 7 classes per week, and eager to expand my knowledge and do all I can to leave my ego at the door. The last trip was a trip of a lifetime, so I can only imagine how this one will be. I think the first trip was just scratching the surface of what yoga ... read more

A new day and a new city! We get up early before 7:00am and head for our included breakfast, a far cry from the Sheraton, but better than horrible. We go back to our room to decide how to tackle our day. Our cab driver from last night had given us his business card that offered tours and drivers. We were about to call him when the phone rang, like any good salesman, he beat us to the punch. We agreed on a fixed rate of 500 rupees about $14 CAD to have a driver in an air-conditioned car all day. Our first stop was the 17th century aqueduct called Panchakki. Water pumped from a reservoir in the hills 6 km away collects in a square pool filled with Kohl fish. Then it was off to ... read more

So here we are safe and sound in Mumbai! We arrived via Heathrow with very little sleep at 11:30am yesterday. The airport at Mumbai is quite modern and clean, no big surprises first out of the gate. We wandered through long hallways under construction, smelling similar to any tropical location, a slight mildew smell from the humidity and air conditioning. We went thru immigration hassle free and then had our bags x-rayed as we left the airport…a little odd since they had just been on the plane with us?!? We walked out and looked for a man that was to greet us from the airport with my Mom’s name for the hotel. Sure enough there he was we were escorted outside to the parking lot to our driver. My first taste of a Bombay street child, ... read more
