So after my little stint sleeping on the couch in the lobby, i was upgraded to the floor outside our room for a few hours, and then, finally, i got to sleep in my bed. We slept in big time....missing breakfast (arg) and eventually waking up around 12 or 1 or something. We fell out of bed and downstairs and hung around the lobby for a bit before heading to lidl for some supplies. I love lidl. We bought the guts of three meals for 20 euro. We got back and went to the kitchen (we generously volunteered our beds to the American girls as they had had to check out. We had a breakfast of omlettes, yogurt, and hot dogs. Nice. Oh and Rubex. Which, consistent to my form on the trip, i took pretty ... read more

Ok due in part to the fact that we got in so late that morning, and yet again the dry sherry curse, we were in fact late for the train we wanted to get. Having said that, using our tickets is really easy, so expect us to get complacent for the next train journey and arrive late again.... We had to say goodbye to the nice hotel SIGH. I miss it so much :( The sausage rolls in the train station make a good late morning breakfast. The train journey was smooth and relaxing. Like a nice dry sherry. We got some sleep and made fun of Conors hat alot. We read, listened to music and generally had a laugh. At Conors hat. So a million hours later we arrive in Berlin. A short hop skip ... read more

So I did it, I finally did it. I booked a holiday on my sisters card. Arrived in 'the dam' approx 2pm local time after enjoying a fine cuisine in Dublin airport, with this theory being based on its price so it must have been fine. After walking around amsterdam central station like a headless chicken and several conversation in that jesusin dutch language i eventually managed to get a tram ticket and went to meet up with the rooster (Conor) Apparently he has friends so after droppin off my gear and admiring his rather swanky hotel room i met Dancin' Pete for the first time and well all went for refreshments. The aforementioned nautically inclined pete cudnt let go off his fascination with everything pirate and watery so we rented some pedal boats and proceeded ... read more

With the last day in Amsterdam upon us (thank god) we took the executive decision to sleep in all morning and forgo any culture on this leg of the trip. We then got up to sample some more local cuisine in a quaint little place called McDonalds. (Chicken nuggets and a quater pounder = the yummy). We then went to meet the final third of our dynamic trio, Conors cousin Enda. Well actually i went home to bed while Conor got him at the train station. Once Enda was added into the mix things really kicked up a notch. We rented a pedalo and began terrorising the canals of Amsterdam as plundering pirates. HAR YA HAR HAR HAR ARRRR. We also had someone to remind us to eat regularly, which had become a little bit of ... read more

Nursing a slight headache from the one or two dry sherries enjoyed the night before, Conor and i (well, i would be more accurate) wake up and decide to take the free breakfast that the shitty hotel is offering. So we leave our hotel and walk over to the sister shitty hotel in which we had to check in the night before (needlessly complicated). A yummy feast of toast and jam ensued. We then went back to the room and packed all our stuff, so that we could get the hell out of the place. Pronto. We grabbed all our bags and dropped them off in the lockers in the central station, with the intention of going back and grabbing them when we were going to the new hotel. We walked outside and it took us ... read more

Arrived on time into Schiphol airport....my god is that a long taxi ride on the plane after you land. 20 mins sitting around twiddling my thumbs :-p Then had a quick settling down from the flight pint in the airport bar....which was nice...except i have to get used to not getting nice cider over here....grrr Promptly moved on to the train station adjoining the airport...and twenty minutes later we were in Amsterdam city centre. I love Holland for their trains, if nothing else :-p Thus began a journey which can only be compared to several circumnavigations of the globe. Slight exageration perhaps. But it was a long walk to the first hotel (which we had previously and quite accurately dubbed 'the shitty hotel'. MY GOD IT WAS BAD. I wouldnt even send enemies there it was ... read more

Right, so setting this thing up in the hopes i can stay focused while on the holiday and actually keep a record of my crazy adventures. Party animal that i am, i am preparing everything tonight. But not before i write a list of all the things i need to prepare. Its actually quite difficult to write said list. No pillow, no slippers, no bath robe. Wow we really will be roughing it. I wonder if they have toilet paper on the continent... These posts will more than likely be short and hopefully sweet. They may be bitter. Depends on the crazy adventures really.
