It was a "lovely day in the country" on the bike from 8.10am to 6pm with a few quick stops and a one hour visit with Sopeap, Sophat's sister in Kratie. Hot and dusty in the dry flat countyside of Svey Riang, I wrapped my head and neck in a wet kromaar before putting my helmet on and dosed during the early part of the ride. Later on, to cut out the whistling noise of air rushing about the head gear, I tied my kromaar on the outside like a headscarf fastened under the chin.
