So i have been putting off writing this blog for the last few days now, as I knew that it was definately going to be the last of my blogs. Thank you to anyone who has commented on my blog, your messages and posts have been really funny and I have enjoyed reading them.. I have also really enjoyed writing blog thorughout my trip and I'm sure in a week, when I'm tearing my hair out at work, my sun tan is faded and my restful brain is back working overtime, then I will use the blog to reflect on what can only be described as a turbulent but wonderful 4 weeks... My last blog left me in Koh tao. I am currently now in my study in Hillingdon and wasn't quite sure that that was ... read more

It is currently 09.30am in Koh Tao and I have just completed my first 1 hour thai boxing class and I have the feeling that I will be aching by about 10:30am!!?! Now I have to be honest I have been so lazy on this trip. I know I only go to the gym once or twice a week at home, but I have really noticed the effects of little exercise, lots of alcohol and so excellent thai food, so signed myself up for 3 sessions of thai boxing to end my trip. I had my first one this morning up in sair rai village. My instructor Steve was great and also very patient with me. I had to get myself into some rather strange positions and had to be spun around on one leg as ... read more

Where do I start?? I actually for once am a little lost for words (please take a note of the date) and I feel that I have to correct myself following my last blog regarding the beauty that I am looking for in an Island. For those of you who have been reading my blog, reading between the lines you may of worked out that there seems to be something that has been missing slightly on my travels, and you may of realised that I have not quite found the paradise that I believed Thailand had! I would of very much liked to of mixed up my trip and rolled all the good qualities of each area to make one perfect place.. The friendliness of Northern Thais, the beautiful beaches of Koh Phi Phi, the laid ... read more

The clue is in the title about my current activity in the beautiful island of Koh Lanta. The biggest decision I am having to make every day is what bikini to wear and which factor suncream should be used today.. It has to be the firts time on my trip that I have truly relaxed and done absolutely nothing. I am feeling somwhat guilty about my lack of activity, I am sure that Koh Lanta has alot more to offer than wonderful beaches and freshly caught seafood cooked on the many beach bbq's but for now I live in sin... The trip from phi phi was hassle free, mainly because I had my accom pre-booked in phi phi so I was not a target for the many touts we had travelling with us on the boat. ... read more

My god it has been awhile for an update, well it fills like a while to me, especially when your day the days are only broken by lunch and the odd application of sun cream!! So I have listed my blog as me being in Phi phi, which is currently correct, but I did spend one night in Phuket town which was an interesting place. I think I left my last blog as my second day in the cookery course in Chiang Mai which was really good fun. That evening (Friday) I decided to go and tackle the night bizarre once again, to grab myself bargain or two, completely aware that I don't have the most amount of room in my rucksack at the moment, but it appears to me that the cheapest placein Thailand to ... read more

I can't believe it! I was just coming to the end of my blog and the computer crashed!! Slightly peed off to say the least!! So I think this blog will be slightly shorter than the last one! So I survived the jungle. Unfotunatley the Karin tribe did not want to keep me! I'm sure it was nothing to do with my culinary skills, maybe more to do with the fact that I turned up to their village looking like I had been hiking for 6 weeks rather than 6 hours. Now I'm not going to lie to you, the trek was tough! It really takes something out of you trekking up and downhill in 36 degrees of the jungle heat with no breeze.. I have to admit that I did enjoy the experience, it was ... read more

Ok so I'm now a master chef! I'm being serious! I can now cook Thai food like the rest of them. i have just had the best day, cooking and eating Thai food all day. It was an amazing day, in fact so amazing that I have booked with the same school to do my day 2 on Friday. I was looking for something to do anyway on Friday, so this seemed like a great option. For those of you who don't know, Chaing Mai in the North of Thailand is famous for it's cookery schools and many of the guestshouse in these parts saw this as an opportunity to maxmise on the baht and shoot up loads of cookery classes within guestshouse. Fortunately I had done my homework and found in my guidebook "Chiang Mai ... read more

Short blog entry today folks! rubbish computer REALLY slow connection! So the overnight train was amazing. These small little cubby holes complete with matress and pillows. Was a great way to travel. The bed itself is more comfortable than the one in my guest house, but the motion of the train meant that I have had only a few hours sleep. The train toilet was interesting, but only ranked 3rd in the worst toilet in Thailand - not knocking the number 1 toilet off the top "the record shop toilet with the bucket under the stairs for you pee in!!" When you gotta go you gotta go!! I already like chang mai alot more than Bangkok, partly to do with the fact that I can actually breath here! Always a positive thing to be able to ... read more

For anyon not on Facebook well it's just bloody tough... SO I felt the need to blog right now as I have just had the most amazing experience (well it ranked 3rd) A THAI massage.. I thought at one point that she was going to pull my arm out of the socket, but for someone who has been feeling a little run down, jet lagged and generally a bit poo, it was the most amazing thing I could of done. In fact got chatting to a massusue (if that is how you spell it) around the pool and ... read more
