Time for a new entry is long overdue. I would just like to say that I have been extremely busy laterly, catering to work, some school, and the reality that I have less than 2 months left in Vienna. This means I have been desperately trying to savour every moment, spending late nights that turn into early mornings (maybe too often) with friends here. But to move on to my latest adventure....Finland! This trip was round two of my travel adventures with Mr. Joel Timothy Meadows. This time we had some joiners as well. They included Jasper, a good friend of ours this semester form Amsterdam, and Satu, one of my good friends and co-workers from the bar in Vienna. Satu is from Helsinki originally and had been planning a trip at the same time to ... read more

I just got back to Vienna after a long but very awesome 6 week trek through southern europe. I obviously can't give all the details. Ill just try to do highlights. Ok, Seb and I started off alone and spent some time in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Cool little town, but not too much to see. Then we moved down to Zagreb, Croatia. This is the capital. But we werent too amazed with it. We then moved on the Split, which is on the Adriatic coast. I believe this was by far Seb's and my favorite place. Everything was really old, with some decent beaches and crystal clear blue water. Shopping wasnt too bad either! So, Wes met up with us here...then we hopped to some islands for a few days, Brac and Hvar. Michael met us on ... read more

I haven't been on any crazy adventures lately. Well none at least that warrant a write up. I'm right now enjoying my last few days in Vienna. Correction. I will be here another 2 months still. But everyone is starting to leave to return home. Seb is leaving for Poland and will come back next week to join up with me for our big trip. Although Im not really going anywhere but on vacation, a lot of the people I've met here will be gone when I come back. So I am trying really hard to enjoy my last few days with these people. It's really crazy how quickly you become attached to some people! How fast some people enter into your life and how comfortable you get. And then they have to leave again. I'm ... read more

I don't think the stereotypes of Polish people in Chicago hold exactly true to the people in Poland. Polish ladies are all tall, skinny and pretty. So that makes most short, chubby Americans not too happy. But Krakow, however dangerous, is a very cool city. Did the Buddy Network trip to Krakow with the usual suspects. I think there were about 50-60 of us. Apparently we were so loud one night in the hotel, the neighbors (of the hotel) called the police. Crazy! Ok, Krakow is about 8 hours by bus from Vienna. We did some quick city touring, learned some history, saw the castle as well as the largest Market Square in Europe. Krakow's mascot is a dragon. There's an old legend about a dragon that used to live in a cave along the river. ... read more

Finally got the rest of Joels photos to put up. This week is pretty boring, as everyone seems to have exams, projects or just generally busy. Im sure on Thursday, once everyone is finished, the fun will continue. Got a package today from home! Can't explain how much I've missed chocolate covered raisins! Thanks for the small pharmacy as well, mom. So enjoy the photos! xoxo m... read more

I decided to try this one out because I really hated the fomat for the old one. This one is a little nicer, with the ability tp put some photos up. So for an update. As of now I am just back in Vienna and will have some course work coming up the next weeks. I have some work to do as well for the thesis and some other projects. Vienna is a in a transition between winter into spring/summer. We had some really nice weather, and now it is raining for 3 days. So this means it is time to check out some museums. I'm also in the process of planning my last trip for this semseter. Sebastian and I intend to do a 3 week trek into Serbia, Croatia, then along the coasts of ... read more

Morocco is a country of people just hanging out.... Well, after 10 long days, Im finally back ''home''. I got in last night around midnight into Vienna. I think the trip back was longer than the entire trip total! Ill try to give a quick run of the itinerary... Day 1 leave for Bratislava from Vienna via train. Catch quick bus to airport and then plane to Germany's Frankfurt-Hahn airport. Don't let the name confuse you...Frankfurt Hahn is about 2 hours from Frankfurt. Slept in airport. Day 2 wake up early after uncomfortable sleep in airport and catch plane to Jerez, Spain. From airport catch bus to Jerez bus station, then bus to Algeciras. In Algeciras, buy ferry tickets to Tangier, Morocco. Catch: must take taxi to Tarifa, Spain...20 min away. Catch ferry to Morocco and ... read more
