Sorry everyone the place where we were trying to upload the pictures at was taking way too long. We will try and post them asap. We are off to Paris tomorrow and are looking forward to it. We did some walking around today but nothing too exciting happened. Bern wasnt what we expected but we enjoyed the change of pace to recharge. so today was our first full day here in Berne, sweeetserland. it is much different than our other host cities. it is ridiculus expensive. we went to the cheapest place that all the books and hostel recommend, a self serve caf style place 33 sfr! max it should have been 20. i had quite the hankering for some thai food, and since there is one next to our hostel i took a look at the menu- 20 sfr for pad thai, come on!! pad thai is 8 bucks in canada and enough for seconds! how sad for my thai aching tummy. These are a few of my favourite things to look forward to tomorrow. Hello everyone, Here were are in Bern, Switzerland the birth place of the Toblerone bar. Meg and I had a long but beautiful trip through the Swiss Alps today and what a site. The mountains were higher and whiter then they were in Austria. Speaking of Austria we spent our last day in Salzburg yesterday touring another house of Mozart and more Christmas markets. Hello from Austria eveyone. Meg is up stairs still lazing around as we wait for the time to go pick up her sister Beth. This means that I finally get to write another blog. Well our last moments in Italy were memorable. We started off the day waking up at 8AM, which meant we had 45 minutes to finish packing everything and get to the trainstation on the other side of Venice. bonjourno! so today is our last day as italians, i must admit my heart is a little sad. so no blog yesterday, and that would because we did not have the day in venezia we wished for. rather we spent the day in the venice ophedale (hospital). no emergenices, chris' cough was getting worse and he had been in bed for a couple days so hospital it was. so let me paint a quick picture. maps in venice are as useful as flippers in the snow. getting to the ophedale was based on random "H" signs and me asking random shopkeepers [View Full Entry]

bonjourno, bonjourno!! so today we are temporary citizens of Venezia. It is 5:30pm here, chris is sleeping off his cold, our room does not have the tv we became accustomed to, so i am out here writing you. the hostel we are staying at the next 3 nights is "a venice museum", weird name right? well when you step in here man oh man do you get why it's called a museum! we are sleeping in a building that you pay 8 euro for a museum tour! it is not the modern room we had last time, but let me tell [View Full Entry]

bonjourno amicos, famiglia! oh what a glorious day was bestowed upon us here in firenze! we're talking short sleeves and sunglasses, oh heaven! chris has got quite the cold, so he was a prisoner of the hostel. so i went out for a jaunt on my own. i walked the markets, ate gorgeous pear pastires and basked in the sun on the steps of Santa Maria Nuvella, basked until the gypsy women came. they scare me. when they beg for money they stand directly infront of you shaking their little tin speaking in italian- and they do not leave until you [View Full Entry]
