too much fun Getting nervous, only a couple of days till you come back and you still haven't encountered any horrible happen to make up for you having a lovely time. Rest assured the karma gods are stewing something brilliant. Maybe you'll have to spend your long distance flight home sat next to a grossly obese person who keeps spilling into your seat and stealing your food. Whatever, I look forward to reading about it.
Hi Matthew Picchu! Exhausted just reading your blog - must be an age thing! You seem to be covering every inch of South America and eating continually! Sounds like Macchu Picchu was fantastic and looking forward to seeing your pix. Amazing that you + Tom managed to meet up for a beer in Cusco - you always said you would![The Church Green may be simpler next time!] Enjoy rest of Mattatour, Love M+A[and of course,Matt!]x
Easter sadness Very dissapointed that you did not weep for an hour having spoken to us...we all did so felt that you should too. Missed sitting next to you for Easter meal...had to sit next to Catherine....rubbish. Photos of Annas Easter egg hunt to follow...she is still considered little enough to do it. Im off back to Leeds today to wallpaper our bedroom....I am excited as I stripped the wallpaper in a fit of DIY enthusiasm 7 weeks ago + it needs to be done. Ian is not excited as he went to Gatecrasher and does not feel quite up to wallpapering! Take it easy, Babsx
road trip I bet you were like Tom Green in road trip waiting for the snake to eat the chick!! pleased it didn't bite your hand off. you are silly for swimming with pirahnahs tho- they have a lot of teeth. I don't watch blue peter for nothing!xxx
Chicks Having spent the week drawing pictures of little fluffy chicks and Easter bunnies I would appreciate it if there were no more stories about snakes eating chicks. Thank you.
P.S. I have been reading your blogs but havent written anything for awhile...this is by no means a reflection of how much I love you! Babs x
Wowza! Ooooh that sounds bit unpleasant - good that you are such an expert fainter! And at least you got all your altitude probs out the way in one go - hope you feeling better again and enjoying having your own room. Cx
Travelling is getting messy! Title was the message really!
It will do you good to be somewhere that isn't Australia, New Zealand or North Wales.'Let the travelling begin.'! PS. Please do not get malaria.x
marvelous matthew Glad to see you maintaining your finely honed balance of awesome cleverness and ridiculous doziness!! And pleased to see that you are still managing to wing it through those dozy moments :-)
Happy days, all sounds v good fun. Cx

Sillyandnaughty boy What have I always told you about accepting lifts from strange men! ALL of those men were strange, and you aren't even Anna!!
I am not trogging all the way out to New Zealand to put you in a body bag.Has the 'Staying Safe and Sensible Tour' gone out of the window?!Does the double somersault AND the hitch hiking stint mean you are trying not to come home.....alive! Stay safe or I'll kill you myself , lots of love , Mummy!

You need to stop going to bed at 7:30pm, Granda goes to bed later than you and he's 95- you are not. Looking forward to a chat later xxxx
You know, I don't think I have ever known so much about your daily food and drink in take as I do at the moment :-) Fascinating. Well done for eating healthily and being so moderate with the alcohol. Very impressive. So where are all these amazing new photos? The world is waiting with baited breath to see your solo ice climb ;-)

Comments I have just had a few secs to look at blog tonight after Dad's exciting major surgery on his neck fiasco (whilst you swan around in hot puddles somewhere in the southern hemisphere) and it strikes me when you just read the 'All Comments ' box that your friends are really nasty to you in a nice ,acerbic kind of way, but your family are still just nice and caring for you. I am just wondering who knows you best?!!!
I especially like the comment from 'Harris' who is especially observant about you remembering the fact that she has two names!Mine is Mum!Simple!xx
Your photos Looked through your photos with Claire who wondered why you always pulled the same pose with both your thumbs up in all your photos. I told her it was to cover your boobs. Seriously, you'll end up with crippling arthritis in your hands if you're not careful. Some spectacular looking photos though, was nice to get the link so keep doing that if you get more. Hope the good times keep rolling. Take care mate.
flan if you want really good spinach and ricotta flan try the one on the way back up when you travel from wellington to taupo in a cafe called the brown sugar cafe. it's amazing.
flip flops Glad you have sorted flip flops. Try not to leave your things lying around in the great outdoors. This is exciting getting your news like this. Am off to work now. An exciting lesson on the environment with year 10 and little year 7s to follow. All very civilised and pleasant in the leafy suburbs. Take care and sending lots of love x
very proud Auntie How exciting!! Have your travelblog coming up automatically now Matthew. What a great time you are having and what an experience. Like the anecdotes and writing style!! Sending lots of love from rainy old England.
Similar days... Its amazing that even though we are on opposite sides of the world our days can mirror each others....I spent the day teaching the children the importance of brushing their teeth, what to do if you get nits, cleaning up 3 wee accidents and best of all freeing Millie's head out from the bottom of the toilet door where she had got stuck!!!Hillarious I found it very hard to tell her off because the tears of laughter kept stopping me!! Glad you are still having a good time...I too would like a Maori chief if you have any spare...loads of love Babs x x
I could be a Maori chief too! Having seen the size and stomach on the big man you were confronting, I guess I could be a match for him any day!Bring it on!!Or, better still, bring one home!!!
Friends counter Sounds like you still having an amzing time - glad to see you making lots of friends along the way, so many infact that you seem to have stopped counting - got to be a good sign :-)
Your photos look amazing! Have just added NZ to my list of places I'd like to go. Looks v green, and the sea is so blue and clear!
Do you think the other people on the boat realised that you needed to win the shooting game or you get stroppy, or was that just when you were 5?
Keep having fun
Lots love

I have only been outside Europe once. I can barely get through a day without forgetting at least two or three important things. I have no idea what I'm doing and may not have been properly immunised.
