I departed the hostel at 7:40 am. A little later that should have. Beating the hell out of the Polo was pretty fun. Sometimes it's really fun to drive a slow car as fast as you can. It was a five speed. It took about 1 hour 40 minutes to get up there. I didn't know that there were rolls on the route. It was 26 kunas each way. I arrived at 9:15 am. I didn't not leave early enough. There was already a huge line. I ended up having wait an hour and forty minutes to buy a ticket to get it. Living in BC I've been spoiled. It's not that the park and water falls weren't beautiful, but there's a lot of this kind of stuff in BC. I haven't seen nearly as much ... read more

After that bus ride the day before it was a casual start to the day. I cleaned up and walked to the shopping centre across the street to grab breakfast and some things I needed. I was told to exchange euros for kunas in the centre of the city because the rate would be better. I couldn't find contact lens solution in the supermarket or drug store. When I finally asked the cashier about it when buying some sunscreen, she pointed to the optometrist across the way. The drug store had so many other things in there but didn't carry that. Also, I didn't weigh my fruit and tag it before I took it to the cashier. Things are little different/old fashion here. At the hostel I chatted with the two Dutch girls who were in ... read more

All before 8:30 am I bought a souvenir, bought breakfast, bought snacks and asked the rental car company what would happen if I indeed did got a speeding ticket. They said they'd mail it to me if the police decide to follow through with it. I got a text alerting me that the bus was going to be 45 minutes late. We were supposed to leave at 8:50 and didn't leave until 10:00 am. As I was loading my suitcase onto the bus I almost had a heart attack. I noticed one of the travel locks was missing. Did someone break it? Then I realized I unlocked it last in the hostel throwing stuff in at the last second. I also remember placing the keys on the floor. The keys in the same ring were for ... read more

I went to trunk just before 1:00 am. I woke up several times during the night but it wasn't uncommon for me. Initially I folded the quilt and laid down on top of it because the trunk was hard. Halfway through the night it got cold and I had to taco myself in between the two halves. Woke up, checked my phone and it was 7:15 am. The was a gym around the corner from the McDonald's. I went in but I was a 24 hour gym and nobody was at the front desk, even though it's was 9:00 am at this point. I got an email back and there weren't any spots for the Mercedes factory tour in Sindelfingen nearby. So, it was just the Mercedes museum. I weighed my options and went back to ... read more

I still had the remainder of a bag of cereal from Prague and the hostel let me have some milk. So here was my plan for the day. Pick up the rental car, drive to Stuttgart for the Porsche Museum (2.5 hours), drive to the Nürburgring, (3 hours). I allowed two and a half hours at each stop. It didn't make sense to drive back to Munich that night, only to go back out to Stuttgart the next morning. When I left the hostel I took everything that belonged to me and some things that didn't. I explained to the girl at the front desk why I was borrowing their pillow and quilt. She said I was funny and thanks for letting them know. And to hide them because her boss was there. When getting quotes ... read more

I got went to bed around 2:00. I didn't have an early start to the day because I found out that the BMW factory wasn't hosting tours. A lot of the factory workers are on holiday apparently. I decided to go for the five € breakfast buffet at the hostel. I discreetly made a sandwich and shoved it in my bag. At the train station nearby I go several quotes for a rental car. One of my primary reasons for coming to Germany was to drive on the Autobahn and especially the Nürburgring. It's been on my bucket list for quite sometime. The lowest quote I got was 340 €. I’m very much looking forward to driving instead of walking around doing touristy things. I bought a day pass for the U Bahn and went to ... read more

After night of stupid clubbing I only got four hours of sleep. Nobody was at the reception. So slid the key under the door. I thought I had enough time, but as usual I almost fucked myself over. I got to the train station and had trouble finding where I needed to go to catch my bus. I asked the information stand. I made the bus by about three minutes. If I didn't ask, I definitely would have missed it. It was a DB bus and it was much nicer and cleaner than the Flixbus to Amsterdam. When I awoke from a two hour nap the were cars whizzing past the bus. We were in Germany alright. I first Autobahn experience I wasn't behind the wheel. I ate the food I packed and took another nap. ... read more

I stayed up late trying to blog but kept dozing off. I optimistically booked a 10:00 free walking tour through Sandeman. I knew wasn’t going to make it then, but there was a 10:45 am slot available I almost didn’t make that one. I walked down to the Old Town and it was quite hot out. We had a Czech as our tour guide. It seems like Czech humour is a bit self-deprecating as seen in his explanations for historical sights. On the tour I met a beautiful Brazilian woman Patricia. The tour was not exactly free as the guide said he’d be more that willing to accept donations once the tour was over. After the walking tour was done we walked around a bit ourselves and got some gelato. On one end of the Charles’ ... read more

Running on three hours of sleep, I got my ass up and ready. Everyone else was still sleeping. I felt like that asshole in a movie theater trying to not make noise when opening a bag of chips but is super loud anyways. I grabbed breakfast and a snack for the flight. Security is pretty relaxed and is not anything like when you leave Canada. I slept for almost the entire flight after some jackass dropped a full water bottle on me trying to load his bag in the overhead compartment. The lady at the metro kiosk in the airport was a bit rude, but maybe that’s the way people are here. The bus driver was equally as rude and drove like mad man. The metro train I got on after the bus didn’t stop where ... read more

In the morning I booked transportation and accommodation for Prague. I wanted to see Central Amsterdam in the daytime. Stoopwafel is a waffel cut in half top and bottom with syrup and chocolate in between. Not long after eating my stomach started hurting. It was really sugary and my body was not taking kindly to it. I went back to the hostel and napped it off. In the late afternoon I message Laetitia and she and her cousin that she came to see were at a thrift market in Kiloshop. I got there just as they were leaving. I picked up a couple gifts for friends and it started raining heavily. As I was seeking shelter I stumbled across the iamamsterdam sign. Hunger set in and I grabbed a herring sandwich. I wanted to see what ... read more
