We had an excellent day today. The weather was stunning and we went to the zoo and saw some lovely animals. It is a very good zoo, plenty of seats, toilets and the cafe had yummy food and it was all much cheaper than we expected. Akira got lots of great photos. [View Full Entry]

We were going to go to the zoo yesterday but things didn't work out as planned. Today we actually got as far as the tram and didn't go because it started raining more than any other time that we've been here. We went shopping instead and finally bought the amber beads that we've been going to buy for ages. Fortunately we waited because they were 50% off. [View Full Entry]

Akira and I went out to Molly Malone's for a Sunday roast today. It was a bit exy so we shared a roast lamb and some chips. The lamb was really delicious, I didn't realise how much I have missed it since we've been here. It's not very easy to get around here. [View Full Entry]

Akira got home at about 10 this morning so we didn't have to wait and worry about him. He went cross country skiing with Milada (someone we met through hospitality club) in Most yesterday and had a pretty good time. We stayed in all day; I was going to go out and get a few things from the shop but I couldn't be bothered. [View Full Entry]

It's good to be home. Barcelona is a great city but very tiring, even if you are a couple of slugs like us. No dramas today and thanks to our last few days accommodation our overall feeling for Barcelona is good. We never found the C con C we were after and we've decided we can make better hot chocolate ourselves anyway. Akira is in Most with Milada tonight so we won't see him until tomorrow. We finally saw Gaudi's Parc Güell today. It is quiet spectacular but the walk up the hill to it, even with help of escalators, was was hard. We tried to find some Churros con Chocolate after that but had no luck finding anywhere as inviting as the places we went to in Madrid and the churros here isn't as curly or as fresh. We tried again this evening but came home once again without having anything. If we can't find anything in the morning before we leave it will be very disappointing indeed.
