Dear all, It's been a long time! These last two months have been full of hard work, success and laughter and I wish I could do it all over again. The English Summer School was a great success and last week at the Angeles Descalzos Christmas Party the infamous recorder group impressed us all with their renditions of Jingle Bells and Rudolph! I am really amazed at how much they have learned in just over two months, many of them are so talented. In January we are going to take the children on another Campamento where I am going to work with four girls who will continue teaching and developing the group in the new year. Dear all, Buenos dias de El Salvador! I apologise that it has been so long since my last entry, my days have been so full and they seem to go by far too quickly! So the Week of the Child ended with a huge celebration in Terminal, it was so much fun! Since then my recorder groups have gotten well under way and many are picking it up much quicker than I anticipated which is wonderful! They really seem to enjoy the classes and many are extremely enthusiastic about practicing outside of the class hours. The plan is to do a small performance at the end of year party next month and then organise a bigger Christmas performance for December. Hola todos, I apologise that it has been such a long time since my last entry, the past few weeks have been so busy and this really is the first chance i've had to write to you all! So i'll start from the beginning... I arrived in Santa Ana nearly 3 weeks ago now. It's a beautiful, colonial city (although it feels much more like a town), full of life and vibrancy albeit a little rough around the edges. There is so much to see outside of the city also, volcanoes, lakes, waterfalls, artisan villages, I am really looking forward to exploring this beautiful region! Hola todos! After a 3 hour delay in London, a 10 hour flight of relentless turbulance and an extremely tight layover in the US (I literally had to sprint across Houston airport!) I finally arrived in El Salvador last Thursday. As soon as I walked out of the airport doors I noticed the heat, the sounds and the smells so familiar of this endearing country. I was then reunited with Jesus and we travelled back to El Zonte, the costal village where he lives. I have just been relaxing this week, spending time with Jesus' family while he has been going to university. Hello dears! The time has finally arrived and tomorrow morning I am off to El Salvador! I wanted to create this blog not only to keep in touch but also to show you how the support you've given me will help in El Salvador and Brazil.
