My grilfriend decided to spend Christmas 2015 in Singapore. As Singapore isn't a cheap place, the first chanllenge was to find a good place to stay at a reasonable price. I found the "Parkroyal on Beach Road" hotel, and I can say it was a good choice: friendly staff, comfortable and very clean rooms and great location, near Singapore Flyer and Orchard Road. Many retaurants are near, and many of htem at a good price. We had booked a Christmas dinner at the saveur restaurant on 5 Purvis Street, and it wasn't a disappointment. Excellent food and wine, great staff. Well, we spent 5 days there, and a lot of time went into shopping, my girlfriend loves Orchard Road, which shouldn't come as a suprise at all. May 28, 2011 So it's Bangkok again! I just love this place; it never sleeps, and people have this special openness I like a lot. I arrived on time at the airport and I got through the immigration procedure as fast as never before. So I was in my hotel at 2:30pm already, which was nice, so easy-going. Only bad news is that the supermarket just across the road is closed due to renovating; I have to find a store that provides me with all I need, but that shouldn't be a problem here in Bangkok. One week in one of my favorite cities! I left my hometown Frankfurt, Germany on saturday, June 26. Flying with Lufthansa to Mailand, Italy and from there to Shanghai with Air China. The flight was ok, but of course after having travelled for more than 15 hours in one stretch I was happy to finally arrive in Shanghai on sunday morning. It was not my first time there, I visited several times, for business and leisure, too. But the city changes so quickly that I only recognized a few things.
