Today couldn't have been better. i got picked up at the hotel at 8 oclock and taken to a local market with my instructors to look at fresh ingredients. I wanted to eat EVERYTHING. You could smell, coconut, curry and freshly steamed desserts in banana leaves... Wednesday night we went to see the simon cabaret... a transvestite show... Justin got many unsolitated attention... check out our beyonce pics! an amazing day- Yesterday we took a 90 foot cruise boat to the beautiful Phi Phi Islands. We snorkeled in some fantastic dive sites. The coral was vibrant and there were so many fish that you could practically touch them. Today was full of excitement. After such a long sail day yesterday, justin and i just passed out and slept for 11 hours straight so after breakfast and trying to wake up with the help of strong coffee, we were on our way to the other side of the island. We were introduced to our ATV rides and after a short briefing... we were on our way through the jungles, in the rivers, through the villages, through the latex trees and arrived at a beautiful waterfall where we stopped for a much needed swim and snack. Today we decided to take a tuk tuk into Phuket town for shopping and adventure. We were told of a market where you can get really cheap stuff. This market was HUGE and we could have easily got lost in there. However it was very overwhelming and hot, plus nothing had prices so you had to haggle for everything. And they never had out sizes in anything we liked. It is impossible to find shoes for bigger feet. We had lunch at an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet. Yes Maman, I wore shorts, used sun screen and bug spray. But was still eaten by the mosquitoes. And yes I have benedril and claritin in my luggage. To answer your previous question Thai people eat with fork and knife. Today we woke up early to have a great breakfast before heading to the jungle. This place is very different from other touristy places as they seem to take in wounded and neglected elephants (as well as other animals) from harsh situations arount the country. Well, after a few days here we have discovered many interesting facts... 1- Thai people don't use chopsticks 2- Thai iced tea is just well tea and .. ice. No sweet, creamy and delicious condensed milk 3- Germans act the same way here as in Spain and Italy meaning they are lounging chair hoggers. Waking up as early as possible and reserving as many chairs as possible with their towels for the whole day when they will only use them for a few hours. 4- Many people rather eat burgers and fries than eat something seasoned with ... well, after over 23 hours, not much sleep and many sore body parts, we arrived in Phuket in the middle of the night. Korean airlines was one of the best airlines we ever flew with. Stylish and friendly attendants, great Asian food with many snacks and over 30 movies and much more to choose from on your own screen... First class? Nope just regular economy for us regular mortals.
