I'm so jealous that you got a chance to eat there recently. My friends and I just roasted a 60 pound pig and while it was tasty it couldn't hold a candle to Ibu Oka. Happy Eating and give my love to Bali. Marcus
enak! i went to Ibu Oka for the first time ( and I've lived in Bali 2 years now!!!) last week... everything I was told about it was true... enak sekaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaali!, especialy the skin. Cheers, Hetty
good times It looks like the rest of your adventure was as good as the time in Singapore. I was sorry I wasn't able to see Chris when he swang back through, but there's always next time. Hope you're enjoying med school.
funny faux sambistas You sure took the tour Marc! It has been really nice to see where you have been and especially to see photos of your meals! I really love food myself. One thing that stood out to me in this blog that made me laugh was the Indonesian women in their faux samba garb. Was it a Brasilian theme dance or was it just the costume? What strikes me is that their own culture is so shockingly fascinating and pleasing to our western sight, but they still present what they know for sure the westerns like. (and besides anything brasilian, the westerners Love skin!)
welcome back from the corners of our world,

hi! you should have told me you wanted to see thai boxing. my dad is the secretary of thai boxing federation. we get in to any matches for free and sit ring side. this whole trip looks amazing.
Great to see some Pics Marcus,
It is great to see some pictures up. Either you just started getting the up or I couldn't find them, which is just as likely since I am already getting so old I have a hard time clicking around (MySpace just blows my mind!)
It looks like you are having a wonderful time, getting a great perspective on life and what really matters. You still have the great smile and great body!
It will be great to chat to you once you return about everything including your new thoughts on exercise, physique stuff, etc... It is something I have been thinking a lot about lately and your pics just bring it up again in my mind.
I am looking forward to the new blog entries and continually following your trip!
take care,
matt

Good to See Your Thinking Marcus,
It is great to see that you are taking time to reflect back on life during this trip. Gather thoughts and motivations for life in general. You are a special person with a lot going for you. That alone is more than most people are blessed with in their lifetime. But you are simply outstanding with a good grasp on life and purpose.
Keep in touch, and do let me know when you return, the workouts just aren't the same without you!!
Take care,
Matt
Hi marcus I know exactly what you mean, I also loved walking around the temples and see these amazing man-made wonders. I agree that trying to say no all the children was really difficult, I ended up buying to many bracelets and water bottles than i needed, but i guess it's for a good cause. Where are you heading next?
Talk to you later//johanna

Hope you have been looking after yourself, got rid of your cold and i'l give you hayleys address so you can send her your beanie coz you wont be needing that in Asia :-)
The great adventure I've loved hearing about all your adventures so far. This is the one I can really picture you in. The pictures are great but I have seen you hard at work so many times and I know that your heart and soul went into the didg. Oh yeah, a little blood too. Love Love Love
I'm going to medical school in just a few months. How lucky am I.... I am grateful for the opportunities that are ahead of me. However, for now I plan to travel the world, see as much as I can, and allow the experiences I have to penetrate my being and leave me in a new state. I look forward to today, to right now.... I AM discovering patience, love, and compassion within me that I did not see before. Love.
