Boracay by RORO Asia » Philippines » Boracay
Talcum-fine white sands, crystal-clear calm waters, the culture, the people - these are just few reasons why I can't get enough of this paradise called Boracay. Enthralled by my first Boracay getaway same time last year, I told myself that I would definitely go back. Since, it’s another long vacation with the proclamation of Oct31-Nov01 as Non-working holidays, we decided to experience the Boracay-fun again. This time, since I, like most of the people here in the country, am experiencing some cash probl [View Full Entry]

Part of the Pahiyas Festival tour is a side-trip to some churches in Laguna. We visited two old churches - the St Mary Magdalene Church in Magdalena, Laguna and the Majayjay Church in Majayjay, Laguna. Both churches were built during the Spanish Era, using "Polo" or forced labor. The churches' architectural design is every photographer's haven. Too bad, my digicam run out of batteries, so i just managed to take some snapshots thru my phone. Sigh, the digicam should have given justice to the beauty of the churches and should have complimented the deep blue skies. I should buy a spare [View Full Entry]

Pahiyas Festival is a colorful feast in honor of San Isidro Labrador, the patron saints of farmers, as a thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. Houses along the old streets of Lucban are artistically decorated with agricultural harvest, and of the very unique highlight of the festival, the "kiping". It is a wafer made up of rice that comes in different colors. The Lucbanons come up in different designs every year, as they showcase their artistic talents in decorating their houses. This year's Festival is so special, as it marked as the very first trip that i joined with the [url=http [View Full Entry]

We were just lazing around, enjoying the holiday (labor day), when suddenly, we've decided that we'll visit Mt Arayat National Park. I haven't visited the nat'l park/resort for quite some time, considering it's proximity to our area. Located at Brgy San Juan Bano, Arayat, Pampanga, it is a dormant volcano with an area of 3, 715.28 hectares. On the foot of the mountain lies a park/resort with freshwater and natural falls directly originating from the mountain. The place hasn't changed much. It still has the same amenities w/c i adored in my childhood. The park has 3 freshwater pools, with [View Full Entry]

A trip to Avilon Zoo Asia » Philippines » Rizal
I had been hearing nice things about this new zoo, located in Montalban, Rizal. Since, its Jeric's Birthday, i convinced him to celebrate it w/ nature. Along w/ his brother, and our very cute niece, Sylvanna, we travelled, for almost an hour to Avilon Zoo. At 730 am, they were already waiting for me at Chowking Philcoa. It's friday, and i took my day off the office, and travelled all along from Pampanga. After we had our breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, we rode a jeep in front of Jollibee, en-route to San Mateo, Rizal. The jeepney fare was approximately Php 20.00/each. [View Full Entry]

Subic Outing Asia » Philippines » Subic
It is our annual family outing. Usually, we just spend it on one of the resorts in Pampanga, but this year, we've decided to have a feel of the beach. We were all so excited. As early as 4am, we were all awake, readying for our fun day, supposedly. Oh well, almost! The lucky stars were unfortunately not on our side that day, since we took a very hard time finding for a van to rent. Tsk tsk. At last, at 830am, we finally scouted for a van. Whew, the kids were almost disappointed, spoiled and wasted, since they were really [View Full Entry]

Daranak Falls Asia » Philippines » Rizal
Daranak Falls nestles quietly at the foot of the Tanay mountains, preserved with the natural vegetation, complemented with beautiful waterfalls, ponds, and rivers cascading through elaborate tropical trees and plants. This 14-meter high falls is truly a refreshing site. A short walk over the top of Daranak are smaller, cascading streams known as Batlag Falls. It is located at Bgy. Tandang Kutyo in the town of Tanay. The place has been transformed into a public park/resort operated by the government. It was raining when we got there. It was the typhoon that hit Real, Quezon and other parts o [View Full Entry]

By 8am, we were already aboard MV Sun Cruises at CCP Manila Bay dock. An hour later, we arrived the tadpole-shaped island of Corregidor on the province of Bataan. During the one-hour ferry ride, our historical trip already started, as a historian, gave us a brief history of the island. Corregidor is also called "the rock" as it saved as a fortress of Manila Bay, during World War II. Soon as we sat foot on the island, we hopped on tramvia buses w/c will get us around the island for our day tour. We had a very funny tour guide, coz [View Full Entry]

October 29 - 31, 2004 BORACAY ISLAND Hailed as the Beach Capital of the Philipines, the palm-studded island of Boracay is the perfect island getaway, with its warm blue waters, and powder-fine white sand. In this tiny, butterfly-shaped island located in Aklan province at the northwestern tip of Panay in Western Visayas , 345 kms. South of Manila, days can be spent simply lazing on the beach while nights are for indulging in the tropical party lifestyle. Nothing compares to the talcum-fine sand of the four-kilometer White Beach. I've been to different beaches with white sand [View Full Entry]
