Greeting from Rome Arriving in Rome!!! Again the train stations are very crowded, You realize what a HUB the stations in Europe are. We arrived at our apt. in the Campo de' Fiori. Our Apt is a 3 bed. two bath. There are two terraces we have coffee in the morning and snacks at night. Ofcourse we are surrounded by chruches and the bells are ringing all the time, I am used to it now. Are first night we followed Rick Steves Rome night walk That was so great The fountains at night are a sight. Day 2 Thrus Sept 24 We rode the double decker bus. GREETING FROM ITALY Now it is the 5th day on Orvieto. Tomorrow were off to Rome. Orvieto was the perfect stop for us. Our arp. was perfect a( little sparse) The drive from Lucca was quit sussful due to the GPS It navigated through small town and down the autostrass. John did the driving and loved the toll roads. In the little ford we explored Sienna, Assisi and many little towns. I will tell more later but It's late here we just finished dinner so I will continue from Rome Soon. Hi all Greeting from Italy You haven't herd from us because there are't many computers avaiable and we are so busy it takes so much time. So here is a short re-cap from our excelent adventure. Traveling to Italy The adventure of moving from one place to another is quite interesting. Although flying here from SFO was very uneventiful other than being very boring. Once in Italy for the first few days can be trying. Seems the people assume you know where and you are going. Take Venice for example since there is no grid to the streetss, it takes a day or so to find your way around but once to are acclamated "not so hard". I must tell we loved Venice its remarkable. Tomorrow were off to Venice Italy. We are so looking forward to exploring the crumbling building and the water ways. Actually I haven't a clue what is in store for us.... read more
