Been a crazy past two weeks. Monday (August 4) had a headache all day, then ended up with a fever Monday night. It broke when I was sleeping because I woke up drenched in sweat. I had the worst night of sleep that night, woke up every hour. I felt so heavy, I kept dreaming that I was carrying yukata's up Mt. Fuji. Went to work Tuesday, but still didn't feel to great, had a sore throat and so on. Had dinner at Zachary and Sophia's house that night. Was so good, and so much fun. BBQ ribs, macaroni and cheese, tortillas. YUM! Was fun to talk to the parents about what they do and such. About a month before we had grown bean plants in our class with a bean and a paper towel and ... read more

Tuesday Haley Chelsea Amy C and I went to pepper lunch for dinner. YUM! Wednesday we went to Yokoska and met up with Navy men that Haley and Chelsea met. We were suppose to go to dinner on the beach but since we got lost and got there late we weren't able to since the beach was 1/2 hour away. Instead we went to a little bar and that owner was so cute checking up on us and making sure we were okay. Then they took us to a Korean BBQ were you get a raw plate of meat and cook it on a BBQ grill that is in the middle of the table. Really cool. After that we did kareoke and was a lot of fun. Had to catch the subway by 10:30 to make ... read more

Had a great weekend! Friday Haley, Chelsea, and I walked around Hiro-o and found a little festival really close to our hotel, but I think it was a party oh well! They sold food so we ate! I spilled soy sauce all over me so I had to walk around with it on me, oh well. Saturday the 3 of us were lazy until we got onto the bus to Yokota at 1:30. Only $5 and it was supose to take 2 hours but it only took 1, so that was nice. Got there around 2:30 and went to the comissary and bought food for climbing mt. fuji. Then we were walking to the other side of the base to get to the east gate when we needed directions so we flagged down a police man. ... read more

Crazy week so far. Tuesday we had 9 bathroom accidents... yes 9! Then Tuesday night Haley and I went to Hardy Barracks an Army base near work. Only thing there was a little store that is run by the same guy that owns the one at our hotel. He saw us there and offered us a ride back to the hotel ... nice because we really didn't want to walk! Kind of fun when people just know who we are now. Yesterday ... Wednesday, we only had 4 accidents but from the same kid - I really don't think he's potty trained (and their suppose to be) because his parents send 5 extra pairs of clothes with him. He knows english too so its not a miscommunication thing. Made alien antennas for the art project (I ... read more

Had a busy week last week! Went to Shinjuku, a Japanese Festival at a Shrine, Akiabahra, the Imperial Palace, and a Baseball Game. It was fun! On Tuesday Cassie, Amy T. and I went to Shinjuku to see if we could get tickets for Kyoto for this weekend but they were all sold out except for the shin tickets (bullet train) and we want to take a bus there and a shin back to save money, so we couldn't go this weekend - we're going to go back next week and try to get tickets for the weekend before we leave. But while we were there we found the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and another building that was in my Japan Guide book. We went up to the 45th floor of the government building and there ... read more

Had a lazy night Friday, then went to Kamakura on Saturday. Were only there for a few hours (and it took 2 hours each way to get there) but it was well worth it. We saw the giant buddha and I got to go inside to see how it was made. Man was it like a sauna! Kind of cool, but not reallyThe rest went to another thing that I thought was just going to be a shrine so Chelsea and I didnt go, but it ended up being the 1 million buddhas. Oh well. Thought we were going to go to a baseball game Saturday night, thats why we didn't stay long, but we ended up not being able to get tickets:(. Haley went with Chris to Camp Zama and I headed back to Tokyo ... read more

Had a good weekend and week. Thursday the 3rd, we went to Jusco which is like a walmart or target but like a mall too, because its one store but you pay for things at each section. it was 4 stories and had everything from food to electronics. I didn't buy anything just looked around. Took about 1 hour to get there walk and bus, on the way there was easy but on the way back we were riding the bus waiting for our stop when this guy came up to us and said we had to get off because it was the last stop (nice of him to do) but then we had to find our way home. We were talking about maybe asking someone when and american who i would think lived in japan ... read more

Went to Nikko this weekend with Haley, Chelsea, Amy, and Chris (almost everyone else went too but left later); left at 6:45 am on Sat. morning and took the subway to Asakusa (had to switch 1x to get there) - took 45 min. Then bought a World Heritage Pass for $36 which included the train to Nikko and back and buses and entrance to all shrines. Took the train to Nikko which took 2 hours. We packed lots of jelly sandwiches on left over hot dog buns from the BBQ and some left over hot dogs for lunch so we didn't have to spend a lot. Walked to our Japanese hotel and dropped off our bags but couldn't check in until 3 and it was 10. Saw a sacred bridge which was really pretty then we ... read more
