Yokota AB
Hello, I actually was only at Yokota a few times and didn't get a chance to see the whole base. To me there was a lot to do because I was at the Embassy where there was nothing. I know that we did some trips through the outdoor rec. and those were fun, but not sure about any for small children. I think I remember seeing a few pages in their pamphlets with quite a few things for kids to do. There were quite a few kids at the 4th of July though and they had a lot of kid activities, so I would think that there would be things to keep them occupied, and in the summer they offered swimming lessons through Camp Adventure. Other than that, I'm not sure. Sorry, I can' t be of much help.

Yokota
Hi. My husband just got orders to Yokota. I am nervous because I have not found many things that are their to do. I have 3 small kids and I am so concerned that they will be board out of their mind. Please let me know if I should not be as concerned.

Can't help them with things like sunscreen for liability reasons - if we do have to help a little there has to be another counselor there watching. It also helps them with doing things on their own, but they are able to do most of it, just not as well and it takes forever!!! I don't think their are any resrictions for mail - probably not plants, fruits, veggies. It can be sent just like you were sending it in the US. So I"d think that whatever you can send in the states would be fine. You dont have to send it internationally since its a U.S. military base.

hello
Hi Jess!! Love reading the updates and seeing the pictures. 2 questions....why can't you help the kids do things like put on sunscreen? They seem pretty little to be so self sufficient! and, are there any restrictions of what you can and can't receive in the mail? you can email me if you want. love you!!

hi
Hi Jess this is Aunt Julie!! So glad you are there and experiencing all you are! You are brave! I don't think I could eat Sushi! Love the blog so we can stay updated on what you are doing. Charles City flooded pretty bad but we are blessed and have no problems at our house. Swinging bridge is gone though so that is sad. Hope all is well south of us! Take care and talk to you later! Love you!
