Americanisms I probably already said 'real mad'. I will try and hold on to my English accent. The guy at the car service place yesterday 'dug' my accent, saving me a few dollars. Didn't work so well on the not-so-nice car salesman who I had to negotiate prices with though. I am picking up the car today, will send photos soon. But more importantly, I need a name. I think it's a boy, but for some reason I want to call him Betty. Maybe he's a transsexual?
Ah but will they be safe with me on the road?!
I am watching your blog entries like a hawk to detect any emergence of Americanisms. Have already spottted 'real mad' bu I can't swear you don't already say that.
Julio sounds hilarious. Have you got photos of your car?
Drive-Thru... Drive-Tru Banks... Drive-Thru pharmacies... Drive-Thru Krispy Kremes, Drive-Thru Starbucks. Americans really love their cars. How many cup holders does your car have?
So good to hear from you! Hey Jenny
It's so good to hear from you! have been thinking of you all week. Particularly the thought that whilst I'm trudging to work every day in the same old routine, you've been doing exciting things all the way over in Amerikee (like drive-thru tacos - who'd have thought of such a thing... Surprising both in concept, and in how they spell 'through'...)! Really great to hear how you're doing and looking forward to many more updates.
Take care lovely

Howdee Hi Jennifer - are you getting over your jet lag (although is there that much if you fly west??). Have a lovely relaxing time for a day or two before your next challenge of driving on the freeways! Good luck, your guardian angels will be looking after you.
With love, Catherine xx
How was the journey? Hello Jenny-bear! How was the trip? How is the jet-lag? I looked at your map, and was surprised to see how much of the journey is in the southern States. Looking forward to your first message from California. lots of love.
And she's off ... Wow Jen looks fab soooo jealous!! Have a fabby time we will miss you but no doubt you will remember our little challenge in every state you visit!!! Haha. Travel safe, have fun and enjoy the ride! Lots of love jude xxx
so jealous... Seeing your trip laid out on a map makes it seem more real, and makes me even more jealous!! I know you will have a fantastic time and I look forward to reading your blog updates and seeing your (no doubt very numerous) photos!
We will do our best to give you a proper send-off tonight... it could be your last drink for a while as I think you might have trouble convincing the various purveyors of alcohol in the States that you are indeed over 21!! ;-)
Getting ready Er, um, so many states, so little time? Had to cut a few. My mom always said Kansas was very boring. How's that for a reason? As for Missouri, it was actually on the itinerary for a while, and could go back on. Have an acquaintance there. :-)
Map Jen your map is fantastically helpful. I hope I am not alone in having an absolutely terrible sense of North American geography. And all geography come to that.
But I'd like to know what Kansas and Missouri have done to offend you- you are narrowly passing by but snubbing them with your non-attendance.
Hi, it's me. Jenny...in the world. I was jennyineesti when I lived in Estonia, and jennyinslovakia when I lived in Slovakia. Eventually figured I should keep changing countries, but not my e-mail address......
This time I'm off to the States. I have the American passport, and when needed my American accent is pretty convincing. But really, I know very little about my country of birth. Figured it was time to find out a bit and catch up with friends and family along the way.
