| 7th January 2009 Chris N. | India blues - From: Shave and a Hair Cut, two bits Mike, Thanks for your blog update. I was having withdrawal symptoms from lack of vicarious travel thru your blog. "CouchPotato-osis." I visited India 20 years ago with a native Punjabi speaker (in undergrad with me at the time) ..I was the only white and nerdy person in 4 weeks through the country - from Delhi to Bangalore to Mysore to Hyderabad to Rishikesh. It's good to know that the auto rickshaw/ motorcycle/ bicycle traffic is still as insane as it was 20 yrs. ago. We saw a cartoon movie - in RUSSIAN (their ally). Why the US didn't choose India as an ally rather than Pakistan I'll never know. I finished a course on infectious diseases. I'm impressed you made it through all your countries w/o a hitch. Amazing. BTW, our church does a x-country bike ride thru India. Are you game? Best & Happy NY, Chris |

Did you say you can row a raft in a lake? It is mostly lake, then again some of it looks more like a dam break! |

| 15th April 2008 Chris | perspective - From: TIA Mike, um, like 'wow'. You've done more things, traveled more places than 99.99% of people in their lifetime -that much is clearly obvious. But the lessons you've learned and shared are really the most valuable part of your travels (to me at least). As they say, travel removes prejudice. Thanks for the great adventure via blog. I've lived vicariously, if not jealously, through your travels whilst I sit in cozy and (mostly) dysentery-free USA. I will toast you with a PBJ. Perspective, man, perspective. |
| 14th April 2008 Little Sis | Donuts - From: Get up Rose-Poly Krispy Kreme rocks, but you keep forgetting that you didn't go to any of the really good places like your sis advised. |

| 28th September 2007 Matt B. | Gin & Tonic - From: African Fever :( Maybe you should start asking for a Gin & Tonic instead of Zima. That's how I ward off the fever here in Georgia. It's a potent elephant repellent, too. I haven't seen one yet. Hang in there. Maybe you can write a book, "The Malaria Diet" or "Lose Weight - Hallucinate!". Send me a 1st edition. |

I'm only joking of course -- you're doing a great job -- keep it up! By the way, I just watched "The Last King of Scotland" -- so it's sort of freaking me out that you're in Uganda.
